Something About Me and My Book:: Robert P. Fitton’s love of history is the foundation of his time travel novels. His college major was American Studies, a combination of American social and political history as well as geological and geographical perspectives. A strong interest in science and science fiction was fostered in his youth. Fitton’s foray into writing actually began after college, fortified with writing seminars with noted science fiction and mystery writers and a television series producer. Overall, he fell in love with the idea of actually stepping back in time. Utilizing his history background he concentrated science fiction and history into time travel novels within a specific year. In 1927 Fitton the baseball fan weaves the phenomenal season of the 1927 Yankees and specifically Babe Ruth’s chasing of his 1923 home run record into the fabric of the book. He has not forgotten the science fiction aspects of his writing with an apocalyptic formula that introduces unique possibilities within the Roaring Twenties.
