Something About Me and My Book:
About The Author
Sandra Peterson Lott is the author of “Temporary Power Outages,” but her pen name is Sandra Lott, RN, MSN. She is the daughter of Classie Ward of Ludlow, MS and Clarence Jefferson of Brandon, MS. Sandra married Edward Lott in 1988 and they now have 2 daughters, Kary and Mercedes Lott. Sandra is a registered nurse and works in pediatrics at a local hospital in Jackson, MS. She loves taking care of the children. She even teaches the 9-11 year old Sunday School Class at the Rose Hill M.B.Church of Mendenhall, MS.

About The Book
When we think of the word "temporary", we think of momentary, just for a season, not lasting forever, or just for a little while. God allows situations, things and people in our lives, to have a temporary status because He knows what's best for us. No one wants to hurt physically or emotionally for a long period of time. God was gracious enough to provide us with the term, "temporary". He said, Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning". "Temporary Power Outages", shows how people of God still have trials, tribulations, and obstacles in our life, but glory to God, we can be over comers. So many people feel that being a Christian means your troubles are over. Some people even feel that they are unworthy of God's love and His blessings. Meanwhile, there are others who feel that since they are saved, they have everything in the bag. The author of this book struggled with her identity early in childhood and continued to struggle throughout part of her adult life. Only God knew how she felt about life and how disappointing it was at times. The author shares her many encounters with God throughout her life and how He kept her from Satan's snares. She wants the world to know that it really is not about us, but about God and the sacrifice He made by giving His only Son for our sins.

Purpose of Book/Title
I wrote this book with clear instruction from God as a means to encourage and inspire others who may have been born to a single parent. Some children and some adults have sat in the same seat I have sat in and have become discouraged because of it. This book will help them to see that we can still move forward. We do not have to become a victim of our circumstances. This book is also for the parent of these children because they need to know that just because the child doesn’t complain about their situation, doesn’t necessarily mean that they are alright. Although this book is about my life, it is more about God’s hand in my life. I have had so many trials but I just call them power outages. I call them power outages because first of all, this is the title God gave me, and secondly because during my trials I felt weak and powerless.

I love the title Temporary Power Outages. That's very unique. I enjoy the concept of it, too. I'm putting this one on my To Be Read List.
