Something About Me and My Book:: Thank you for this opportunity to introduce myself!
After a lifelong obsession, I researched and wrote The Last Heiress: A Novel of Tutankhamun's Queen.

Ankhesenamun, King Tut's young widow, was born to the ancient world's richest and most dangerous power couple, Pharaoh Akhenaten and Queen Nefertiti. Akhenaten's tyrannical religious revolution has endangered the royal family's hold on power and even their lives. Intrigue, murder, and terror make Ankhesenamun's ten year old half-brother, and closest friend, the new King of Egypt and he wants Ankhesenamun for his wife and queen. But the young princess has been deeply scarred by her father's abuse, and the new king's court is full of hidden, lethal enemies. The Last Heiress, told through Ankhesenamun's point of view, follows the haunted and beautiful young princess as she fights to overcome her past and fulfill her destiny. But just as she finds love and happiness an unthinkable tragedy occurs, and the twenty-one year old widow finds herself caught in a fatal web of conspiracy. With her powerful enemy holding her prisoner in her own palace, Ankhesenamun must decide if she will commit the ultimate crime to bring down a usurper, placing her own life in the balance.

I have no website yet. In fact, after all my work, as I secured my editor and prepared to take the editor-agent-publisher route, my own horrific tale unfolded. My young husband, the family breadwinner, flipped his modern day chariot, his work truck, and demolished his left leg. Almost exactly like in my novel (and in history), he contracted the same infection in the same wounds as the doomed Pharaoh. After 10 days in the ICU, I got my husband back, but his fledgling landscaping company was destroyed. We could not pay the editor, and having almost lost my own husband I was terrified to make a move like awarding her a percentage of future profits. I could just imagine the future lawsuit when said profits were slow to materialize, and I generally abhor debt.

So with the little bit of money we had, I found some family help to edit and then I self-published. And of course, I have no marketing. Ergo, the only people who now know about my book are my tiny family and a few friends. As the bad luck spirals, I ended the friendship with one woman after her husband hit on me, and stupidly I told her, and so she set herself to giving me bad reviews on Barnes and Noble over a night of drinking with an enemy. She never even read the book. Fortunately now there are a few good reviews on B&N, one on Amazon, and on review from a member at "The Armchair Egyptologist" site. But all five or six of those sales does not a career make.

I have no money to spend on marketing. Last night I had a dream that I approached one of those "micro-loans for impoverished women" groups. I thought on waking that this might be a good idea. But I imagine that I will need some sort of plan, and being a former spoiled brat who has never worked in any way other than writing and teaching people to ride horses-which is in high demand when you live in the city, let me tell you-I have no idea how to do this. Any and all help would be a blessing, and if I can help anyone else, perhaps it will evaporate the perpetual dark cloud hanging over my head! Thanks for reading, Stephanie.

Lost Outside the Marketing Wilderness and I Need HELP!!
