HAPPY HOLIDAYS!
The blessings we ask for this season
Aren't the kind that come wrapped with a bow;
We're asking for gifts from the heart,
Ones we need and never outgrow.
May we see in these bright decorations
With their colors and lights all aglow,
The beauty and wonder of life
That God's world was created to show.
Let the peace and goodwill of this season
Be feelings that we can extend
Far into the following year
To our neighbors, our family, and friends.
Most of all, may we always remember
To open our hearts every day and share all the love and the joy
In a special and meaningful way.

Susan,
It's good to find another sister in the Lord. Especially a writing sister. I want to honor God with my writing. I've wanted to write since I was a little girl. It's funny but about 25 years ago I took a creative writing class at a small college in my home town. I was working on a Young Adult novel. The teacher was helpful in encouraging the students to send off their writing to a publisher or an a literary agent. I went to the school library and picked out a name of an agent. I sent her part of the the book I was working on. She called me at home, and I almost fainted . She tried to sell my book to a few publishers, but she told me the young adult market was not strong. She encourage me to try to write for Harlequin, and she sent me a writer's guideline sheet. Surpise, I found out I was pregnant, and I had my precious daughter along with 2 rowdy little boys. Three children 4 and under. I put the idea of writing on the back burner. It wasn't the right time. I had to me a mother. I started writing again about 10 years ago. I also started reading which I'd been neglecting. So I'm praying that now is the right time for me. My book is coming out in September. I'd like to be able to write like Jan Karon who had done all the Mittford books, or I admire Debbie Macomber, a romance writer, whose recent books have been really good. My role model for a long time was Catherine Marshall, and her books really helped me to mature. I've taken several of the Beth Moore Bible Studies in a ladies group. They were wonderful. I just want to use the girft that God had given me. Sorry if I've rambled. Have a blessed day. Mary McCauley
