Something About Me and My Book:
About Witch's Pawn:

Charity Jordan, writer/producer of a popular soap opera, has had a brainstorm for a new plotline with a gothic twist. She’s also been inspired to rent an ancient house in her old hometown, Manor House, as the location. Charity has a double reason for wanting to do this – Manor House is located on the hill where her sister plunged to her death ten years before. Charity, who was there with her sister, has no recollection of what happened that day and harbors the secret fear she might have been responsible.

From the moment the cast and crew set foot in Bender’s Crook, strange things begin to happen. Police chief George Kearny, convinced Charity knows more about her sister Lya’s death than she lets on, begins a relentless pursuit. The local reporter assigned to the story, Dina Clarkson, attaches herself to Charity like a burr and begins to act strangely. The director, Lem Parrish, and lead actress, Erica Van Dyke, likewise. But none stranger than Charity herself once she discovers she is an excact double for the former owner of the house – a witch named Estelle – who vowed revenge on all who destroyed her, and who now seeks her revenge on all their descendants – using charity as her Witch’s Pawn to claim their souls for her own…. Lem joins forces with Professor Allen Brant, a legends expert, to combat the witch and save Charity’s soul…but are they too late to save Charity…or themselves…from the ancient curse?
