Something About Me and My Book:: Been a while, but in the interim I've uploaded my back list of six western historical romances to Kindle, and signed contracts for two more books.
Stone Heart's Woman came out from The Wild Rose Press in March and Wolf Song was released from SynergEbooks in February. I just submitted another book to The Wild Rose Press, but the title may change, so I won't post it yet.
For the past year I've been working very hard learning to promote my books and find a target market.
I still have copies available of The Boston Mountains: Lost in the Ozarks. Also learned that Old American Publishing has put this book on Kindle, so it's now available as an E book. Currently, I'm working on promoting my six back-list releases, all of which are now available on Kindle. The first four were originally published by Topaz. Fly With the Mourning Dove is now available on Kindle as well as in print. The history of Springdale, Arkansas; and Wandering in the Shadows of Time, a personal essay and with interviews taken from my newspaper column; All are available on Amazon.com
I was born in Arkansas, about 15 miles from where I live today. Have been writing since 1985. I had six western historical romances published between 1994 and 2001 under two pseudonyms.
I live and write in the Ozark National Forest in the Boston Mountains. My semi-annual workshops for writers are popular.

Fall means getting around

All summer I dally. Swim, smell the flowers, watch the butterflies dart from blossom to blossom, catch the stars and moon at their most beautiful. No city lights around here to dim them, they shine so bright I can see my way around the yard. But the snakes crawl at night, so be careful there, too. In my head, words I should put on paper come to life. On hot summer afternoons the crystal clear water of the pool beckons, as do the shouts of the family splashing. I join them.

Promoting books

For the past two months, I've spent a lot of time learning different ways to promote my books. The latest one, Fly With The Mourning Dove, has received some good reviews. I also learned how to promote my only POD book, which I reissued after the publisher who first published it went out of business. I now own all rights to Wandering In The Shadows of Time: An Ozarks Odyssey and am sending out excerpts to magazines for publication as a way of promoting the book.
