Something About Me and My Book:
About me:
A student of meditation since 1976 and a graduate of The Iowa Writers’ Workshop, I have been sharing stories of spiritual experience and contemplation—through articles, books, and public talks—since 1990. I'm the author of two children's books on meditation, and co-author with John Lee of Writing from the Body: For Writers, Artists and Dreamers. As an editor, I have developed numerous successful books for adults in the areas of personal growth, women's issues, and global activism, as well as books for children. My editorial and book publishing consultancy (visit www.CeciBooks.com) provides personalized help for authors of uplifting, inspiring books.

My latest book:
Endorsed by John Gray, PhD, and Chicken Soup author Marci Shimoff, my book is Sacred Visitations: Gifts of Grace that Transform the Heart and Awaken the Soul. In it I share some of the wondrous spiritual experiences I've been graced with right in the midst of creative work, family life, and everyday challenges. I included 5 Steps of Sacred Awareness that readers of any tradition can use to find wisdom hidden in their days. You can hear or read an excerpt from the book at www.SacredVisitations.com. There you can also listen to the Sacred Visitations Podcast (on "Ceci's Journal") and subscribe to SAINTS E-Letter, a monthly contemplation on the sacred.

The Work That Is Ours to Do

Several years ago I began writing Sacred Visitations, not because I wanted to write a book, but because I couldn't hoard the wealth any longer. Profound, life-changing and life-instructing experiences had come my way, and how many others knew about it? A few. I'd learned so much about how to mine these extraordinary moments so…

We did a book last year called Women Connected: A Session-by-Session Coaching Guide for Women's Groups (endorsed by Marianne Williamson and Christiane Northrup, MD -- see www.WomenConnected.com) which is an invaluable resource for anyone starting a women's group. This is my favorite, but we've also addressed issues of the divine feminine in works such as Path of the White Wolf (www.PathoftheWhiteWolf.com). I work with many female authors. Will take a look at your articles. Your work sounds fascinating! Blessings, Ceci

I live in Turkey and there are a lot of different types of women's issues here. What type have you addressed in your articles and books? Impressed you have been endorsed by John Gray. Great! I 'm a columnist and you may enjoy my articles:

I worked as a paralegal for 4 years in my twenties, writing and publishing my original work (poetry, fiction, and articles) on the side. Since 1988 I've worked exclusively as an editorial and publishing consultant. Originally I worked with several bestselling authors on their books. I'm still in touch with them! But now I work to empower and guide first-time authors and independent publishers who are just starting out. An exciting number of the books and series we've launched have met with phenomenal success. You can find out more about my publishing work at www.CeciBooks.com (People particularly seem to enjoy the Book Credits page). My most recent book, Sacred Visitations, came out last August and was nicely endorsed -- more about it at www.SacredVisitations.com. I see you're thinking of coming to Seattle; love to have coffee with you if we can schedule it before you come. If you do a book signing here, I recommend Third Place Books or Barnes & Noble at University Village, since you're a mystery writer. Blessings to you! Ceci

Thanks Ceci. Stay in touch. How long did you work as a litigation paralegal? What is your focus now?
