Something About Me and My Book:: Karen Vanderlaan has two great passions in her life: kids and horses. It is her personal mission to help kids in trouble and horses in trouble and get them all off to a better start in life.
Karen grew up on a dairy farm in Vermont where she attended a one-room schoolhouse for five years. She began riding horses almost as soon as she could walk.
Karen now lives in Utah where she has raised her three children. She teaches children and horses.

New York Book Festival

I don't know what it means for me as a writer but my memoir, Show and Tell was given honorable mention in the New York Book Festival's wrting contest-winning would have been nice but....It put a smile on this face!

I used to teach a self defence and rape-abuse protection class with my psychologist wife. It helped a lot of women get over their fears and post traumatic shock.

I couldn't guess at your age, but I'm writing a book about ladies fifty and older about life and what they are doing and I'd love to have you included. I think what you're doing is important and I put the chapter in as it's written by the person.
