- Something About Me and My Book:
- In college I studied creative writing and worked as a waiter at the Boulder Dushanbe Teahouse. In the summer, if people asked for it, I would bring a jar of honey with their tea. Much of the time these jars of honey would be bombarded by honeybees and it always fascinated me how they were able to return again and again to the same spot. I knew that bees had a unique way of communicating with each other, but always wondered how they really did it? I began to do research into bee behavior, and upon discovering the rich structures of the hive, wondered if anyone had ever told a fictional anthropomorphic tale about bees. Upon not finding any such story I realized the images I saw in my head were up to me to write down. So, after gaining the courage, I attempted a story with bees as the main characters. The result is the Bees of Apios series. I have written the part one and part two and will hopefully begin the third and last book soon. I have grown to completely appreciate these hardworking insects and my hope is to find a publisher to share in the adventures I have had with them. But even if I do not, I will be glad of the time I have spent learning of their unique lives.
