Profile Information

Something About Me and My Book:
John William Rice (1942--) was born in Iroquois Falls Ontario to parents of Scots/Irish/Welsh ancestry and spent his public school years in Charlton Ontario, and quit school after completing grade eight. In the spring of 1968, he returned to school under a government upgrading program, completed high school and studied electronics at Northern College of applied arts and technology where he earned the nick name, "The Whisky Poet," which was undeserved because he could only afford beer.
After graduating in 1971, he began a 34-year career as an instrument technician at International Nickel Company. Along the way, he married, fathered two sons. His wife Patty died from cancer in 2003. John retired in 2005 and after completing a book of verse, "From the Heights to the Enchanted Places," he plunged head first into his fantasy novel, "Keeper of the Sword."
John lives and writes in Sudbury Ontario and can be reached on twitter, @keeperofthsword and on Facebook http://on.fb.me/T6ONf0.
It is often a simple thing, a roll of the dice, the turn of a card or a chance meeting that changes one’s life forever. For Josh Campbell and Morgan Conely it was a seemingly harmless chain of events. The finding of an ancient hand written book containing two scrolls, a fight after school and performing a ritual that neither of them believed in.

Death Never Takes a Holiday

Tate Publishing Company  On October 13, 2015, my book, “Death Never Takes a Holiday,” will officially be released by Tate Publishing Company.  I have been informed that it will be in Canadian bookstores (the ones that want to have it)   it is now available on the Tate Publishing website  When I have more information I will post it on my FB page. Please share this information with all of your friends, and tweet if possible.

Tate has two divisions, a self-publishing one, and a no fee division. Some four years ago I received a call from an acquisition editor who offered me a no fee contract for three of my books. The other two, Keeper of the Sword, and Kingdom of Dark Kingdom of Light, will either be out this year or early 2016. Indeed miracles still do happen. So keep faith with your dreams, and keep working towards them.

Book one and Book two of Keeper of the Sword are now available form the Tate publishing web site. Check them out today

She stood there for a long moment enjoying the wanting, the pure animal lust glowing in his eyes. The dying embers of the sun turned her tanned body, turned all of her beauty, all the wonder of it into a Goddess of golden glory.
