Something About Me and My Book:: CONFESSIONS OF A CATHOLIC SCHOOLGIRL, by Michelle Kane, is a collection of intertwining short stories that are based on my life growing up Catholic, in a single-parent home in southwest Detroit in the 1980s.
25% of my profits from book sales will be donated to non-profit organizations devoted to ending domestic violence in the U.S.

My website www.michellekane.com is finally back up! Just an FYI if anyone is looking for a web designer/host do not use the company Boston Dedicated. The owner is a shady con artist who tried to extort money from me and shut down my site because I didn't pay him an exorbitant amount of $$$ to buy my domain name from him...my own name!

After many frustrating months and not paying one cent to an extortionist, I now own my domain name and my site is back up! yay me! Maybe nice guys don't… Continue

Harry Potter Mania

I know that jealousy is a wasted emotion that gets you nowhere in life---but man I am jealous of J.K. Rowling right now!

I don't know about where you live, but in the Detroit area there were numerous parties for the release of the final Harry Potter book and "read-ins" for readers, complete with costume contests and decorations. It's great that kids (and some adults) are actually reading a BOOK these days---but I just don't get it. I could never make it through the first Harry Potter…

I don't believe B&N in Troy will host a signing for self-published authors; not even on consignment. But, I did talk to John about the signing in Rochester and he thinks it's a great idea. I'd like to meet the new events manager and discuss it with her. The next step is to see if she will be interested and then go from there. What do you think?
