What is that special item? You guessed right. It's a copy of my book. I know we all think our books are special. I kinda like mine. :) Anyway, I am looking for some new promotion ideas. I need to know if you have a private school library or church library that might benefit from a copy of my book. Or how about a youth group or a book club? If you have some…

I shall write for you a poem,
no better or no worse,
than are those poems of other men
or women who write in metered verse.
But in my words you'll hear my heart,
its beat in steady pace,
you'll sense my soul and inner self,
see glimpses of my face.
My spirit soars with pen in hand,
my thoughts then framed in ink,
you'll find my passions and desires,
you'll see just how I think.
And on this page I give to…

Greens, pinks, turquoise lights
Undulating above in distant sky
Vibrations of unusual mysteries
Mystical show so intense
Hot toddies for extra warmth
Fantastic mystical magical delights

Like pearls, you've been stringing me
Every time we danced all these weeks
Languishing in intimate conversation
So much we've found in common
Comfortable at times no talk is needed
Last night you let me know your heart
Opened to me all within your ripe hungry soul
Delicious words drenching my mind
Caressing my fingertips as you spoke
Words spoken softly with your intent
Just friends remember
Dancing partners
Your so…..so…

Time passed by
Were you walking with me?
Left over’s of yesterdays gone
Stored memories put away
Closed curtains steal the moonlights shine
I masquerading in leather, lace and
Pearls
I became something I thought you wanted
Though it was just your disguise
In broken promises
Static phone calls
Please I tell my audience
Learn my lesson well
I say,
It’s not us really…
It’s their…

Hi! This month has been terribly hectic! Eleven book edits, with little else being accomplished, other than work and editing (oh, and the gym! I joined a gym and have actually been going, if only to get away from my computer).
These edits are brought on by a very lucky 2008. In Flames, Of Dragons, The Hollowing, GlassWorks, ErRatic, and Emerald City were all released last year.
The sequel to ~In Trysts~…

Today, I'm visiting the one and only non-romance blog on my tour. It's
Minds Alive On the Shelves and when I was setting up the tour, I was so taken with the blog's title, I had to contact the owner, Lisa.
I've never heard a better description of what a book is--"a mind alive on the shelf."…

When you send friend requests on social networks, it's important to introduce yourself, just like you would if you were meeting in person.
Most networks have a space in their friend invitation window to "add a personal message." Tell the other person who you are and why you want to connect. What interests do you share in common? If you know something specific about the person, say so. For example, "I'm a book marketing coach and I really enjoyed your article about selling on…

Success is Manufactured
By: Lawrence Watkins
I remember it like it was yesterday. I was sitting in Perkins Restaurant as we finished our Friday morning bible study class in Louisville, KY. With me, was Carl Brazley, my closest and most creative mentor. Once a month, we had mentoring sessions and we were just about to start. This session was special as he shared his wisdom about success, which has become fundamental in my life philosophy.
Mr. Brazley asked…

“Unto the angel of the church of Ephesus write; These things saith he that holdeth the seven stars in his right hand, who walketh in the midst of the seven golden candlesticks; I know thy works, and thy labour, and thy patience, and how thou canst not bear them which are evil: and thou hast tried them which say they are apostles, and are not, and hast found them liars: And hast borne, and hast patience, and for my name's sake hast laboured, and… Continue

I reach for you, but I can't hold you though
Everytime when I know you've gotta leave
I still don't want you to go
I've been wanting & waiting for far too long
You won't let me get close to you and you know you're wrong
Really though, selfish indulgence is my primary focus
I'm just helpless against your intimate Hocus Pocus
Being being eye candy, captivating best describes your spell
I really can't explain how you do it, but you do it oh so…

'An Interview with Pat Guppy' for 'Her Ladyshipness Magazine'
Questions posed by Hyacinth Bootley-Smythe
Q: You chose to have a quiet funeral, with only family and close friends attending. Why was that?
A: Well, as you can imagine, I am such an incredibly popular and well-loved local personage that the guest list, had I not decided to make it a small affair, would have been hundreds of pages long. To give you some idea of how well-loved my dear Benjamin was, the local…

Those of us––whether writers, editors, or production personnel––who long ago cast our professional lot with the publishing industry, know that it can be as volatile and unpredictable as any other. Unless you are sitting on a stack of raving reviews for a bestseller (or at least a moderate seller) on its way to a tenth printing and adaptation to a major film, the crucial motivation to stick to one’s literary guns can sometimes simply vanish and leave you floundering for reasons and means to…
