I am amazed daily at how excited my dog gets at the sight of his leash in my hand. His joy is pure and deliberate, because he knows he's going for a walk. He and I walk the same route almost every day; we change up sometimes in the summer to walk farther. Oh that people were so easily excited by the same old thing. I adopted my dog from the pound since I fell in love with his little face at first sight. Today I am posting a photo of him, for he is truly my favorite friend! If only he could…

When you’re as active on writer’s sites as I am you occasionally receive what I like to call a little gift from the creative spirit. Case in point, yesterday when I received notice that one of my posts on Kindle Direct Publishing forum was tweeted by them.

My latest website is almost complete. My son took it upon himself to get me out of a jam and has built a new site for me. It isn’t finished yet; still a ‘work in progress’. Thankfully he will be over here in Spain in a few weeks, so we can do some work on it together. What I really mean is that he will show me what to do. I’ve been on the site and thought how good it looks. If I do manage to get to grips with it; I should be able to change it as I go along, developing my creative skills as a…

My new novel is set against a backdrop of 9/11, and yet the story has nothing to do with the attack on the World Trade Center. I have used a varied cast of characters to address domestic abuse and alcoholism in what I hope is an entertaining and unique manner. I chose this topic to write about because of an aunt who lived under the same circumstances. The theme of the novel is poetic justice. The novel is now available on Kindle.

Great fun to read.
About the book: Jack Laskin is an ordinary man. More than ordinary according to some. Running the family hardware store and a life that would bore a snail, nothing exciting ever seems to happen to him.
Then, at his mother’s urging, he tries on a pair of his late grandfather's old pants and everything changes -- most importantly his emerging love life. It's not long before his mother and her meddling friends get…

February 6, 2014 (LOS ANGELES, CA) – Martin Baggen recently released The Secret Rebellion, a captivating Christian fiction novel that provides an interesting take on religious history. The book is recommended for readers who enjoyed The Da Vinci Code and The Passover Plot.
“The Secret Rebellion is a result of wanting to share a perspective on a story that has become a thread in the very fabric of our culture,” says Martin. “The accounts of Jesus that we…

Benjamin Disraeli is reputed to have said, "There are three kinds of lies: lies, damn lies and statistics."
(Although it is attributed to Disraeli, I have to say the phrase smacks heavily of Mark Twain.)
Statistics can indeed be made to lie (it was one of the first things I learned in my stats class), but nevertheless, as a people, Americans love…

Regarding the absolute authority of God,
it’s crazy, silly and futile to rebel;
know that everyone will ultimately bow,
before His throne or the gates of Hell.
Foolishness of God exceeds Mankind’s wisdom;
hidden are the keys of His profound mystery.
We are inspired with awe without intimidation,
knowing that He was crucified upon that Tree.
Acknowledge His deeds, since He loved us first;
worship Him now; His precepts we’re to observe.
Bask…

‘The Book of Changes” is a literary fiction novel that gives an impression of a time and place we all think we know a lot about, but really don’t. Away from the headlines and the sensationalism of The Free Speech Movement, this novel tells a story about love and poetry, about drugs and crisis.
Author Jack Remick is proud to announce the recent release of his novel The Book of Changes. The Book of Changes is a literary…
