How’d this happen?

I woke up this morning and like every morning, the first thing I did after brushing my teeth and washing my face is go down to my office, wake my computer, and check my sales on KDP. Lo and behold, AFTER is moving copies. I also sold a few copies of INSECTLAND, DROP OUT, and SILENT INVASION, but AFTER is the winner today by far. So, I started thinking what I could have done differently the last few days that attracted the extra attention. I really haven’t been concentrating much on AFTER…

Southern Superstitions – Review by Martha A. Cheves, Author  of Stir, Laugh, Repeat; Think With Your Taste Buds; A Book and A Dish

Tears filled June’s eyes, as she watched the strawberry  fields become lakes.  They sat on their front porch and looked across what were  once their strawberry fields into an immense span of nothing…

A Dream Come True

I’ve wanted to be a published author since I was a little girl. Like most girls my age, I read every Judy Bolton and Nancy Drew mystery; they were among my most prized possessions. When I was ten years old, I submitted a poem I’d written to my Sunday school magazine. I can still remember how thrilled I was when I saw my name printed under the title. My first byline! Now, many years later (no need to tell how many), I feel…

Beth Hurd of the Johnston Insider interviews G.A. Zanni, author of “Deceitful Things”

Gilbert A. Zanni has wanted to be a writer since his early teens. Now he’s found time to put some of his many ideas on paper, and has published – as an eBook – his first novel.

Called “Deceitful Things,” the novella is actually the first part of a trilogy.

Just released at the end of February at Amazon.com for Kindle and B&N.com for the…

Tolken For Celandine : A Set Of Unoriginal And Mediocre Cliche’s Set In A Very Dark World

A Tolken For Celandine By Laurell K. Hamilton

Not much of a intro here, just another short story review found in Laurell K Hamitlon’s Strange Candy short story. This one is a dungeons and dragons style piece called “A Toklen For Celandine.”

So the story is not like Hamilton’s other books. It happens in a medieval setting, featuring the traditional classic fantasy elements such as trolls , elves, unicorns and what not. They story follows a female elf warrior named Bevhinn, who…

The raw deal

Okay, for all my new followers, here’s the raw deal of what I’ve done in the way of promotions in the last four months and what the results are. First were the fiver ads on fiver.com. For five bucks people put your books and links on their blogs and websites. I did about fifteen different blogs with little result. My advice; don’t waste that hard earned five bucks. Then I did the article service where an article is ghost-written for you and then sent to thousands of journal sites and logs.…

Writing a Book from Love Letters

I can’t give advice about falling in love, but I can tell you how to write a book that shows readers how it’s done. I was  lucky to inherit 72 onionskin love letters, half in my mother’s handwriting and half in my father’s, which had logged 200,000 miles.

If someone’s old love letters fall into your hands, and you wish to write, look at them as coupons to be redeemed. Take them to the store of your memory which is open 24-7,…

FBI Agent Douglas and NYPD Detecitve Zucarelli are out on the streets.

They are face to face with the drug cartel couriers.

Decisions must be made in seconds.

What does the evidence mean?

***Remember this is a work of fiction, but due to the author’s incredible ability to tell a story, this may seem all too real. We assure you, none of it…

What They Think They Know About Books

I get calls all the time from people who “know” the book publishing industry.  They have written a book and have been avid readers for years… so they assume that they are the key demographic and what they know is fact.

More often than not, what they “know” is old news.  Now I assume that no one reading this falls into this category, but perhaps we can pass this info onto the others…

So, once again:

  1. Hardcovers no longer are the standard for…

Poem: Hearts and Hands

In times of earthly trouble,

placing our heads in our hands,

accomplishes nothing; instead…

we need to lift up our hearts and hands.

For in surrendering our issues to Him,

we start to see the solutions we need.

Applying Godly answers becomes much easier,

when to the Holy Scriptures we heed.

For our heavenly Father loves us,

and He wants us to pray openly;

such an opportunity allows us

to display…

Poem: Faith To Meet Each Trial

Although I may be weak and weary at times,

You gird my spirit with an inner strength.

When reaching out to You in earnest prayer,

I’ll always be within Your arm’s length.

Please continue to enlighten me with truth,

so I may better appreciate these victories

that increase around my life, day after day -

which are the result of communing with Thee.

By my words, Godly deeds and humble prayers,

I purpose to…
