Bayeux Tapestry - a stitch in time.

Bayeux Tapestry – a stitch in time.

            In 1066 the Normans invaded England and defeated the English Kind Harold at the Battle of Hastings. [Actually the battle took place 6 miles away at Santlache or Sandy Stream. The winning French punned the name to Sanguelac or Blood Lake… but that’s another story.] The English King Harold was killed, supposedly with an arrow to his eye, and William the Conqueror seized power….the rest, as they say, is…

Poem/Song: Just a Word, Lord

Just a word, Lord…

is what I desire today.

Often I devote quality time with Thee,

hoping to learn more of your Holy ways.

Just a word, Lord…

keeps me moving forward with You;

embrace me with Your Presence,

in everything that I say and do.

[CHORUS]

Just a word, Lord…

provides me with Everlasting Life.

Being focused on You,

reduces the noise of earthly strife.

Just a word, Lord…

completely captures my heart.

My…

Poem: Teach Me to Pray

Lord, create in me a clean heart

and teach me how to pray.

Sow your righteousness into me;

keep my soul from going astray.

Allow me to tap into Your spiritual strength.

Open my ears – to the words, You now say!

Quench this inner longing of human desire;

help me to obey Your commands without delay.

Humbled by Your awesome Presence

and reminded of my frail vulnerability,

I bring myself before You for correction.

Discipline this child with…

Poem: Called To Worship

Remember the Lord, your God;

He can turn your mourning into dancing.

Refrain from being silent!

Honor Him with continual praising.

Renew your life, mind and conscience,

by spiritually touching God’s realm;

conquer all of life’s obstacles

and prevent your soul from being overwhelmed.

Stand firm – you are redeemed!

Your obligation is to never forget,

that you’ve inherited a sacred mission;

go now forth as Jehovah’s prophet.

You possess the keys…

Erich's Plea - The Witchcraft Wars - Tracey Alley, Author

Erich’s Plea: Book One of the Witchcraft Wars – Review by Martha A. Cheves, Author of Stir, Laugh, Repeat

‘Two months ago he had arrived at Ostland’s Zeaburg prison complex and been taken to this subterranean dungeon with its smooth stone walls, mazes of corridors, little or no lighting and the constant smell of death, blood, waste and…

Alexander (Lex) von Rudloff was born in Pretoria, South Africa on 18th August 1951. He was educated at Christian Brothers’ College and graduated in English Literature and Political Science at UNISA. He found his opposition to the apartheid system leading him into exile in Botswana in 1973 where he obtained citizenship in 1978. manufacturing the ebook from scratch

Today I approved the final galley for the cover. It looks awesome. We tried a few different variations but finally found one that I think will blow away the competition (hopefully) I asked my cover artist for a recomendation for someone to format the manuscript appropriate for all the POD devices. I'm waiting to hear back from her before I begin my own blind search. I'd much rather use her resources since I'm so satisfied with the cover. Should have an answer soon, then it's time to…

Down Low-Dead The Author's Lab/Collaboration Vincent Zandri/Giovanni Gelati

Yeah, that is my name along that of one of the hottest authors on the planet today; make no mistake about it. Read it and weep, make fun of me if you will, have a laugh at my expense, did this actually work? I think it did. We are probably one of the greatest foils in the universe. A team not unlike some of the greatest duo’s of all time. No I am not talking about Batman and Robin; Zandri can’t pull of the Robin costume, way too tight and not his colors. No I am talking about…

THE COVER SELLS THE EBOOK

As I said before, I chose the more expensive cover designer because I know how important the cover is. I sent this summmary off to the woman who is designing my cover for AFTER. She said she could design the artwork solely from this. We'll see.

Around the Globe with F.M. MEREDITH

Another week of rain, but I don't mind since I'm off to Rocky Bluff, California, with this week's author F.M. Meredith. She's taken me to a wonderful restaurant overlooking the ocean where we enjoy, what else? A fabulous seafood dinner. While we're talking, we get entranced by the phosphorescence dancing on the waves rolling onto the beach. What a grand place. Well, onto the questions...

1. Who is Marilyn Meredith and what makes you the most fascinating person in your city?… Continue

How To Develop Key Messages and Get A TV interview

How To Develop Key Messages

By Jackie O'Neal

One of the most effective ways for authors to promote their books is to do broadcast interviews. The reason is related to the large audiences that can be reached quickly. Radio interviews tend to run from 10- 20 minutes, whereas TV interviews are shorter, and often run less than five minutes. So to deliver the points you are eager to make, preparation is needed. Many authors work with media trainers to learn how to…

Nocturnal Muse

The clock glares 3am. My eyelids have once again popped open. It’s as though an electrical switch has been flipped up. Frankenstein's gadgetry turned on high voltage! I wake up like Frank, too, with a low moan and a stiff stretch. I have the three am blues!

I’ve spoken to so many people who’ve complained about waking up in the middle of the night. I’ve sat there counseling them on the wonders of sleep hygiene as I secretly gloated about my enraptured nights of dreaming. We’ve talked…

Digital short Story Chantal Boudreau The Ghost in The Mirror

I gave my hubby a break for a day; hi, it is me again Mrs. Gelati. The reason for the break, well I was the one that read this short story and thoroughly enjoyed it; I was touched by it and have shared it with my daughters. The other reason I told him to stay away from the computer today is that I gave him a long list of things I wanted done for the Holiday this weekend, and gave him a head start to get it done. Besides that I am a bit upset with him and Zandri for what they wrote about me…

Free advertising is always good

Here's a great new site I stumbled upon. It's a good way for Indie writers to get their stuff noticed. And, it's all free. I signed on and in ten minutes my books and all the sales info were live on the site. Give it a shot if you've got books to sell.

Author Success Story: Author Learns What Business She's Truly In

Here is another author success story shared by Dawn Williams, author of the To This Very Day children's picture book series at http://www.sunrisehousepublishes.com:

The scheduled speaker for the evening reached the podium, placed a book on the desk and began: “How many of you authors here tonight know what business you’re in?”

Almost all of the one hundred percent of those listening raised their… Continue

Author Successes: Facebook Can Work for Promoting a New Novel

For me, the trickiest thing about being a writer is being a writer. I am a cellist – or was – until a rare neurological disorder ended my career. The shadow my illness cast was long, and my confidence in trying something new was short.

Fast forward.

Two years…
