Around the Globe with CYNTHIA POLANSKY

It's a sunny but cool Friday and I'm looking for warmer climes. So I hop in my transporter and pick up this week's author, Cynthia Polansky. She gives me directions which fulfills my desires. Soon, we are sitting on a veranda outside a fashionable hotel in Tahiti. The water is absolutely gorgeous, the air is clean, and the sun is warm. She hands me a passion-fruit punch and we begin the questions.

1. Who is Cynthia Polansky and what makes you the most fascinating person in your… Continue

B.R. Stateham The Author's Spotlight

I am planning on running this new segment on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The Author’s Spotlights posts are fun to think about and put together, especially when I have had a chance to actually work closely with the author; that is the case today, so forgive my biased comments. Right off the bat I am going to tell you I enjoy B.R.’s work and have since I pretty much read his first paragraph. The thing about his writing and style though is that it crosses many genres, many styles of taste, and is…

Thad and The G-Man's Most Awesome Adventure The Author's Lab/Collaboration Thad Brown/Giovanni "The G-Man"Gelati

Are you keeping up with us here? They are only going to keep coming at you, fast, funny and with a fury. The authors are really getting their groove on here and coming at me with some intense work. This installment with Thad Brown is full of surprises, laughter, twists and plenty of action. At the heart of it all though is some incredible writing by non-other than Thad Brown. His claim to fame is the The Smoking Gun Sisterhood Series. I strongly suggest that if you read this digital short…

Behavioral Patterns of Homicide and Writing Crime Fiction

Criminal homicide is divided by statute: murder in the first degree, murder in the second degree, and manslaughter.  The corpus delicti  (the objective proof that a crime has been committed) of homicide must include these three elements:  an evidentiary showing the death of a human being, showing of a criminal agency (perpetrator), and that the criminal agency was the…

Hopefully Good Books vs Horrible Songs

It's been a while since I've written here.  I've been doing work away from my writer's desk (hey, I have to eat).  That work is as a community carer, mainly for the elderly.  Very rewarding, but I'm waiting for the day I can say I'm a famous writer.  I've had alot of hours this week, but I've been making sure I'm getting some writing in.  I'm almost on the final chapter of my third novel, so it's all very, very thrilling (well, to me, anyway).  Then the fun starts: editing the thing.  I'm…

Jason Baca, Male Model, Q&A

-What made you decide to do this?

Well way back in 1997 I was a double in a movie called I know what you did last summer. The photographer of the movie approached me and asked if he could take a few photos of me. I realized then that I was photogenic. The photographer kept complimenting me and I figured if a professional like this was saying something good , then I knew I must be something. That's where it all began.

-How often do you work out?

I…

Bryan Healey Guest Post

When considering all that encompasses the process of becoming an author, one must always remember to ensure that, first and foremost, the story you choose is one that you love utterly and completely. Writing a novel is always a monumental undertaking, and that love is the only thing that will keep you driven when the work becomes drudgery. It will power you through any trial.

Let us consider all that constructing a novel entails...

    At the most basic level,…

A little about me and my world...

Hi all,

I thought I would post a bit about myself. First, I am in love with being a grandma and have two of the best grand daughters in the world. They are the very reason that I became a writer. I hadn't written much more than a post-card when my first rgand was born 5 years ago, but when I saw her at the very moment of her birth...my world changed. Six months later I had my first novel...on tablets at that, because I had no idea how to type or use a computer..LOL I have…

Havah by Tosca Lee - a review

Havah is the story of Adam and Eve.  However, this is no Sunday School version! Author Tosca Lee has very skillfully taken the familiar Biblical tale and woven it into a rich tapestry full of unedited human drama, despair, pain, and triumph. The story is told from Eve’s point of view, giving us a whole different perspective – right from the moment she wakes in the garden, to the subtle deception of the serpent, and on through almost 900 years of her struggles as matriarch of…
