After 66 Years, MIA Pilot’s Wife Discovers What Happened to Her Husband!

We never found her although we’ve searched. She found us instead. Beyond all belief, the former wife of Lt. Fred Delbern, pilot of the Lonesome Polecat II found us in March 2009, 68 years after he vanished during the mission to Bremen, Germany. We received a call from Dane Hanson, her nephew, informing us that she was indeed alive, and she wanted to talk to us. I called her immediately and found out that the former Mrs. Delbern had remarried and was now Geraldine Marshall. She had a good,…

How the Barbados Slave Code impacted the Americas

Throughout the British colonies in North America, slavery actually evolved in practice before it was codified into law. In 1661, the Barbados Slave Code was passed, and as a result became the first officially codified slave code in the British North American colonies. The law was passed to provide a legal base for slavery in the Caribbean island of Barbados.

Though the codes were meant to benefit both sides, the only benefit the slaves got from the code was one set of clothing per…

Poem: Human Candle

O Lord, please let Your Light shine,

-in and through me- hot and brightly;

my Life is Yours and I don’t mind

following Your divine directives;

with The Word, I hope to wick away

Wisdom for a disciplined perspective.

I’ve embraced the idea of transparency,

where my lifestyle is straight, tapered

and upright- with genuine integrity.

Disperse the World’s ongoing darkness,

that seeks to envelop my existence,

with a vibrant flame of Your…

Life in Winterberg

Despite my newfound perspective, self-doubt still clouded my mind. I still felt isolated, like being a stranger not belonging there. My mother’s overprotectiveness didn’t help either. My life was school and home and caring for my two younger sisters. There wasn’t any time or opportunity to make friends.

Speaking of school, in the 40s West Germany was Catholic and Lutheran and our public school was Catholic, and we were in the minority being Lutheran. Unfortunately, out pastor didn’t…

Hello to my fellow authors!

Hi everyone,

I found out about the Book Marketing Network from the book "How to Promote Market and Sell Your Kindle Book" by Omar Johnson. Some great advice in that book.

I am very excited about self-publishing, in the same way that I became an internet nerd back in the 90's when I was lucky enough to find out about it through a friend who worked for GTE Networks and got me online very…

Being at Peace and being One with the World

“For God is a God not of disorder but of peace. As in all the churches of the saints (1 Corinthians 14:33 nrs).” While God is the peace and order in our lives, violence is the chaos and disorder.

We cannot develop non-violence if we continue to maintain an erroneous view on how to achieve peace. Peace cannot be achieved by subjugating our neighbors. We cannot attain peace by destruction. Peace cannot be achieved by acquiring more weapons or building stronger bombs or by creating…

Grace vs. The Law

Okay, this time let us compare Grace with what is call “The Law” or the Law of Moses. The Law is actually quite different from Grace. Actually, calling Grace and the Law different is an understatement. They are so contrasting that comparing them is like comparing day and night.

I found this interesting article comparing Grace and the Law, and if we look at them side by side it does seem so contrasting. This is how the article compares them, “Law is God prohibiting and requiring;…

Reuniting with the Love of My Life

I was only 15 when I fell in love way back in 1942. Ruth was her name…Ruth Johnstun. Ruth was 14, but our youth didn’t stop us from building a beautiful relationship. But things went downhill fast when Ruth’s family encouraged her to move to another state to live with her grandmother and attend Beauty College. Before she left, we promised each other that we would be faithful and stay in touch. Indeed, we wrote many letters to each other, sometimes almost daily. Eventually, the letters became…

Heart and Mind, Unplugged

Silence can be powerful. But most of us aren’t fond of the word. Do you know why? Because it’s so easy to hide behind a swarm of words, a blaring noise and a flurry of activities just to avoid confronting your inner self. No one will notice your fears or your insecurities when you use words. No one will go beyond your façade even when you’re faking your expressions just to make people see that you’re doing great. But when you take away those things away…all that’s left is you. And you won’t…

Closed Adoption

Closed adoption, also called a confidential, traditional, or secret adoption, refers to an adoption in which the records of the adoption are kept sealed, thus there is no relationship between the adoptive family and birth parents. Basically, the child’s birth parents are not involved in the child’s life at all, and they will not be informed or updated about the child’s situation. Furthermore, the child will have no way of knowing who his/her true parents are, and he/she will also have no…

United States of Pindostan Meets Jew-Nited States of America

We should really rename our country to “The Jew-nited States of America”. You may think I’m biased or call me anti-Semitic, but let’s look at the facts before you start throwing stones at me. Did you know that billions of our tax money are being used in foreign military aid to Israel? In 2014, the US provided $3.6 billion in foreign military aid to Israel. That is almost 50% of the budget our government has allocated for foreign military financing, military education, and peacekeeping…

Opposition to Theological Conditionalism

Traditionalist vs Conditionalist. Let us take a look at these two viewpoints and see what they are all about.

A debate between the believers of Traditionalism and the believers of Conditionalism has been ongoing for many years now. Although Traditionalists are in the majority, the Conditionalists remain to stand by their doctrine and are beginning to progress in today’s theological circles.

The gist of the debate is the difference of the Traditionalist and the…
