Sharing the Hope I have

I would like to invite interested personnel to check my Blog and Website.  I am greatful to live a life I can say I now have Peace and Hope from a life I once dreaded to live another day.  It is something I hope I can share with many people, what I have been able to overcome from fears, worries, anxieties...I am now at peace because of our dear Lord and what He truly means to me.  I want to share the same joy to give hope to others I now experience.  My website and Blog are:…

Fake eBooks Clogging Kindle

From an article I read this morning:

Thousands of digital books, called ebooks, are being published through Amazon's self-publishing system each month. Many are not written in the traditional sense.

Instead, they are built using something known as Private Label Rights, or PLR content, which is information that can be bought very cheaply online then reformatted into a digital book.

These ebooks are listed for sale -- often at 99 cents -- alongside more…

Keeping Busy

I recently did an interview with Giovanni Gelati for his blogtalkradio to promote The Lost Queen. He invited me to do a short story together in order to give his readers and listeners a taste of The Empyrical Tales. The story is part of his Author's Lab Collaboration series. The G-Man has created a series of on-going stories with a variety of authors in a wide variety of genres. My installment is called "A Prince in Trenton, Seriously?" and is coming soon. I will post a link as soon as the… Continue

Why Are Women Mean To Each Other? Big Daddy Abel

Why are women mean to each other?

Fresh off of playing another series of live shows in several different

states, I tend to contemplate things. How to make shows better, look for

new songs, etc. Sometimes I revisit the actions of people I observed in

my travels. Currently I am wondering: Why are women mean to each other? I

don't mean that ALL women are mean to each other, but quite a few are. I

see it a lot. Mainly I see it at night while I…

Book Review: If I Bring You Roses, by Marisel Vera

Award-winning, first-time novelist Marisel Vera pens an honest, heart-felt, often sad tale of an idealistic, naïve Puerto Rican girl named Felicidad who goes to America to be with the man she loves.

The story, told from an author omniscient point of view, begins in the early 1940’s in the Puerto Rican countryside and ends about ten years later in Chicago. It follows Felicidad’s…

Incredibly Bad Email Customer Service - Don't Do This with Your Business

The following is an email I received from Ning today. It's about the worst customer service letter I've ever read.

First, they say that they are changing the price.

Second, they don't tell you if they are lowering or raising the price (but probably raising the price).

Third, they don't say how much.

Fourth, they say: Don't…

I've changed my mind about what to publish next

author's site

So after much thought and consideration of the current writer's market I've change my mind on what book to publish next. I was going to publish my middle grade sci/fi INSECTLAND but

instead I've decided to publish my very literary novel, DROP OUT. I've come to

this conclusion because I feel the vast majority of Kindle readers are adults

right now, though I do believe…

Obsessed with Books at an Early Age

Many of my early childhood memories involve all of the great books that I had the opportunity to read.  I was a typical kid who loved to be outdoors whenever I could, but I loved my weekly visits to the local library.  I would grab books, stack them high, and take them up to the librarian.  They would be books about animals, adventures, mysteries, and anything else that grabbed my…

Worldly Temptations-Book 3- Nurse Hal Among The Amish-fiction

Here I go again with the next synopsis and first chapter of my Nurse Hal Amish series. This book is titled Worldly Temptations.

How would you like it if you were told you have to throw away your cell phone and sell your car? You probably wouldn’t. You don’t have worry because there is a telephone booth three miles away from your farm that resembles an outhouse. You can make business calls but not social calls to chat with a friend. That is reserved for visiting in person on church…

H.R. Toye Guest Post

Giovanni Gelati, blog talk radio star and co-collaborator once asked my husband, fellow author Cody Toye, if he lived in fear of waking up with me standing over him with a butcher knife in my hand.  While I can indeed shoot razor sharp darts at him with the look that is perfected over time with every married woman, I’m sure Mrs. Gelati can vouch for this; I have never caused him physical harm.  I have ways of making him attest to this point, mwahaha.

How is…
