But the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 6:23
Once upon a time there was a King of a mighty kingdom. He was a good King and he loved his people very much. One day he called twelve of his top leaders to come to him. He had a surprise for them. He gave them each a gift. A fabulous, marvelous gift. A gift like none they had ever seen before. He told his men to go out and share this gift with the rest of his people... the gift was limitless. They would…

My Sin Is Better Than Your Sin
July 31st, 2008
“My sin is better than your sin, my sin is better than yours, you should be punished but me forgiven, ‘cuz my sin is better than yours.”
Can you hear that in a sing song, you know, like ” My dad is bigger than your dad…”, or “My dog is better than your dog…”.
I think we have a lot of people who walk around singing that song in their head. They seem to think that the things they fail and stumble at are small, really…

Recently I was blessed to meet a new author & friend and she agreed to answer some questions. Her path into the world of EZines intrigued me, as it is yet another opportunity for authors to reach an audience. She is involved in many other areas, including the American Cancer Society and the Kentucky Humane Society. I was touched by her caring attitude and know many will benefit from her today as well! Welcome, Lynn!
From where did the inspiration for Afterthoughts come? How… Continue

Referrals are every salesperson's greatest ally. Simply put, a referral is
the most powerful lead you will ever work with. You will obtain more
clients, with less effort, through referrals than through any other
marketing tool. In fact, the value of a qualified referral is so great
that one seasoned sales veteran has commented as follows: "A qualified
referral is more valuable than a thousand gold-leaf brochures."

The simple fact that a prospect shows resistance or raises objections during
your presentation doesn't mean that they aren't interested in your services.
Actually some form of resistance is a sign that you have awakened a degree
of interest in the mind of the prospect. It shows that they are thinking
about what you are saying, but they need more information from you in order
to be fully convinced. An uninterested prospect will usually listen quietly,
but politely,…

It isn't what you know, it's who you know. That's mostly how much of the
third world operates. People get ahead in their social status, their careers
and their economic development based on who they know, who their friends
know, etc. In Western developed economies, although externally shunned
because of its political incorrectness, this concept largely thrives behind
a facade of smiles and obedience to the system. Sure, some people who
follow the system according…

How often do contracts get awarded to the lowest bidder? And how often does
that lowest bid run into cost overruns, unforeseen expenses, etc. which
produce a final price tag more in line with the higher quality, more honest
and professional companies you were previously considering? -- the
companies that it would have been way more painless to have dealt with
throughout the contract fulfillment period.
Some suppliers enter the bidding process with a "bait and…

In some business negotiations there's some truth to the expression, "Give an
inch, take a mile." You have to understand the corporate culture of the
party you are negotiating with. If they have a greater drive to take than
to give, to exploit than to protect, for them to win and you to lose . . ..
then you cannot give even one inch. Because for every inch you give, they
will perceive that as a weakness and they will try to extract a mile. Understand the other side.

I just got back from a delightful trip to Dallas, where hearts are big and folks are reeeeal friendly.
Among the highlights, I heard a story told by a dear friend. It touched me so much I thought I’d share it with you.
Years back, he happened to be driving on a road, late at night, out in the country--no lights, no sign of life, no nothing. In the midst of total darkness, he heard that familiar beep. The beep that indicated his cell phone just went out of rang. That…

And my God will meet all your needs acording to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus.
Philippians 4:19
I was telling someone about my vacation and I made the statement that it was more than I had expected. I had thought we'd have a good time, but I wasn't really sure if the boys would be in best friend or worst enemy mode. It can go either way on any given day. And can change instantly, without warning.
Throw in the fact that we were going without Bobby, and I…

In response to my July 27th post about expiation for combat killing in connection with an ongoing discussion of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) – see http://tinyurl.com/55zq2z – I heard from another active duty military personnel:
I spent the mainstay of my early military career as a paratrooper. Mechanized infantry wasn't an option for me, because I hated being closed in, much the same reasons why I avoided life as a…

Parent love is always loyal and is much deeper than any other love, even brotherly love, or love that is shared with that someone special. I have read this book and felt the agony of the parents during the surgery process. My heart went with to them during their endless wait in the hospital waiting room. A great mother, daughtor story. Surely you should share with us this touching story.

The wait is over! Today is the day. PLEASURING THE PIRATE is officially launched!
If you like a little swashbuckling, a little humor, a little sizzle with your romance, I invite you to give my PIRATE a try. Here's what the reviewers are saying:
"Bryan's touches of humor, naughty, bawdy dialogue and colorful description capture the era, adding dimension to this charming tale of a landlocked pirate, the hellion who tames him and their wild adventure. The heat rises as their…

A person's "Success Mechanism" is actually triggered or activated by goals. For example if a business person has set a goal to enroll one new client each week, his or her commitment to achieving that goal will tend to make him or her work harder, or go the "extra mile" in an effort to meet that commitment. To the contrary, if that person had no specific goal in mind and the end of the week were approaching, they probably would not pull out all the stops like the goal setter would. Goal setters…
