James Reasoner/Lee Goldberg The Dead Man Series #5 The Blood Mesa

I have really taken a liking to this series. The author’s they have chosen thus far have given me an eclectic view of Mr. Dark and our axe wielding hero, Matt Cahill. Being an old-head like I am, the serialization of this series has made it a fun and engaging ride for me. Hopefully I won’t miss an episode; my e-reader will be less than happy with me. We can’t have that. If you haven’t get on board with this do so; sharpen your blade. Evil may be coming to you; hopefully your face will not…

How I Met My Iowa Miss Marple Character

In 2000, I wasn't thinking about writing a cozy, humorous mystery series. At the time, I was reading Agatha Christie's Miss Marple books and had seen a few old Miss Marple movies on television. So in this post I want to explain how the idea came to me to write about my Iowa Miss Marple.

I worked at the local nursing home as a CNA, taking care of residents who were about my parents age. While I helped the residents I talked to them about their past and enjoyed hearing their stories… Continue

COLORS is now available for purchase

I'd like to present COLORS, my latest paranormal suspense story, now available through Kindle and Barnes & Noble Nook Book. It will also be available in paperback through Penumbra Publishers, Barnes & Noble, and Amazon later this week. The story takes place in Orlando, Florida, and is filled with lots of action and all sorts of bad guys. Some are funny, some are gross, some are funny and gross, while others are just plain nasty! But it's also got a couple of… Continue

You're a Wonder, Wonder Woman

Just a quick random musing before I lay me down to sleep (it's almost 11.00pm here in Australia).  I've had it brought to my attention that yesterday was the birthday of actress Lynda Carter, aka Wonder Woman in the 1970s television show.  She was, and still is, one gorgeous broad.  Does anybody else think that Major Steve Trevor, WW's love interest, must be one of the stupidest men alive?  By this I mean Diana Prince (I forget her ranking) would always contact Wonder Woman (from memory),…

Hatfield House

Hatfield House

A fortnight ago I visited Hatfield House with a friend and made notes.

When visiting a stately home, personal items always make a great impression on me.  In one of the display cases are Queen Elizabeth I’s straw garden hat which has an intricate pattern, a pair of her gloves and a pair of silk stockings, which are believed to be the first pair made of silk to be worn in England.  In another display case I saw a…

Some people can really bring you down!

All the thousands of hours of work I put into DROP OUT and it's off to the

formatter and done forever. Yeah! So, I've decided to devote myself to marketing

this week because I have the time and I was going to give AFTER one more blast

before I started rewriting INSECTLAND and marketing and promoting DROP OUT.

Okay, all is well and good. I've done my usual postings on Kindle forums and my

various writers sites that I belong to. But the other day I discovered something…

The wonderful world of Marketing!!!

After sometime listening and trying ideas over and over, I am at last making headway.

E-books have been my greatest success, where I have maintained between 3000-5000 in Kindle ratings, and in Magic&Wizards on Amazon I stay between 30-60-- in Kindle epic books I remain in the top 100, I am a happy camper.

I am selling between 20-30 books a day and have 53 book reviews.

My web page allows for readers to ask questions and even give ideas on how they would like to see…

A Little Bird Told Me...

A week or so ago, I found a baby robin that had fallen from its nest. It hadn't yet grown all its feathers, so was far from ready to fly and fulfill its bird purpose. Its mother perched on a nearby fence. She called constantly to her baby. I was worried both for the baby bird and for its mother. The cat might find the tiny bird in its vulnerable position on the ground lodged between two stones. It could not move forwards or backwards. It could not defend itself. I picked it up. At first, it…
