Computer Scare

I am the anti-techno queen. Perhaps that's why I love to lose myself in historical romance. No need for hard drives or google when you're dallying with a swashbuckling hero like my Gabriel Drake from PLEASURING THE PIRATE.

However, I live in a world and work in an industry that requires me to be computer proficient. Fortunately, I'm married to a modern-day hero, a computer guru. His expertise is in larger systems, but still, it's nice to have someone around who speaks fluent… Continue

Author Interview with Paul Kiritsis

Paul Kiritsis Bio:

I was born in Melbourne, Australia to Greek migrants in 1979 and together with my younger brother who is five years my junior, was reared in a somewhat overprotective environment by my grandmother since both my parents worked full time. I quite freely admit I was spoilt from…

Are you a Lesser-Known Writer?

Definition of a Lesser-Known Writer: a Lesser-Known Writer (a.k.a an "LK") is a writer who is aspiring to literary greatness, one word at a time, and making strides toward getting the word out about them and their work. LKs are ever-evolving, knowledge-seeking and slight show-offs, meaning they don't mind showing off their work.

I'll ask again...are you a Lesser-Known Writer? If so, you're invited to be a guest blogger for the Chronicles of a Lesser-Known Writer Series… Continue

Twitter as both social tool, and diary log

Just added a Twitter widget above, so now what I'm doing will always be current (saves the zillion cross postings). I know there are lots of social networks to keep up with, but what I like about Twitter is that it's really fast (you're very limited on text), which means you can just drop in and put in a very fast update before closing each evening. So I don't have to wait for big stuff -- I just pop in each little thing I've been doing (and sometimes I surprise myself with how much I actually… Continue

Loving God Is Not Enough

Loving God Is Not Enough

August 20th, 2008

Are you shocked? Well, that statement is true and I stand by it. A very important person in history felt the same way. He talked about and preached about it. He said we needed to do one other thing. The church leaders of his day were shocked too. So much so they wanted to kill him. He was the target of a huge plot, carried out perfectly. He was betrayed by his own man, someone very close to him. He was eventually capture, tried (with false… Continue

Beautiful People

Beautiful People

August 19th, 2008

I have to say I am amazed at the beautiful people I have had the pleasure to meet in my life. I don’t mean their faces, though many , many of them have been beautiful too. I am speaking about the lovely hearts we meet as we go through life. Sweet people who make the day a little brighter.

I am also amazed, after getting to know them better, to find that many of those happy, sweet people are bearing heavy burdens. Often people are bearing… Continue

Florida Prepares for the Arrival of a Hurricane

Been there, done that. I’m sure all of us in Florida echo the same. But how do you really prepare? Water, candles, flashlights, canned food all line up just in case.

But preparing emotionally is something totally different. The aftermath of Charley, Ivan and Jeanne stir ugly memories. Yet in the midst of weather reports, announcers’ warnings, pointing out potential dangers, and making suggestions, thoughts still wander to the “what if.”

Those are our human reactions,… Continue

Going Live: A Rant on the Current State of Live Book Events

Geoff Herbach, author of the novel The Miracle Letters of T. Rimberg, spoke at a Henderson Writers’ Group (HWG) meeting here in Las Vegas this week on the topic of narrative choice. His novel, an epistolary collection of suicide letters, uses humor, anger, and personal exploration that develop into a character study of the disturbed T. Rimberg.

I find it fascinating to hear fiction authors discuss how and why they develop their books and characters. How much is them and how much is… Continue
