Are you a Batman fan of any kind? I am and this is just the graphic novel for any size Batman fan: passive /aggressive or in the middle. Frank Tieri along with J. Calafiore as Penciller and Jack Purcell/ Inker make

an amazzing team (this is so good I had to use two z’s).You want villains:

I give no spoilers but here is the synopsis from the back page: ”Gotham City may be…

CRIMINALLY GOOD SKILLS

I realized the other day that I was taking many of the skills I used as a secretary for an undercover narc team and incorporating them into my writing career.

I'm not taking about discipline or keeping a filing system where I can find things, never my strong suit in the office. I was the type of worker who looked at the big picture and saw opportunity to go beyond my job description. I was…

Wow, the response to the teleseminar:

Golden nuggets were extracted and folks walked away with information on the brand new tool that the "big boys" are using… Continue

Graphic Novel Friday WMDs The Weapons Are Coming Manoj Rao

I made some new friends over at Linkedin and they have been amazing finds. The latest one is Manoj Rao and his new graphic novel series WMDs The Weapons Are Coming. I love the concept. I enjoyed the plotline,

artwork, dialogue and premise. Wait, did I tell you how much I enjoyed all this?

The whole experience was another first for me, reading and experiencing a

graphic novel on an iphone , my son’s.

Manoj Rao puts together an…

The Principal of the Collective

Relationships 3.

The Principal of the collective

We have looked at the first principals of relationship, now we need to look at how that should work out in practice. Let us look more closely at the issue of collectivism, the coming together of the followers of Jesus. This…

Shane Briant Worst Nightmares

Goodreads for me has been a fun and exciting place. Shane Briant was nice enough to friend me there, and because of that I learned of his novel. I have to admit right from the

get go I was a bit taken aback by the whole thing. It is an unusual novel

filled with so many different elements; it is difficult for me to tell you it

fits this genre or that. That I think is the beauty of the novel.

Worst Nightmares is a major roller…

Guest Post Q & A with Rick R. Reed

I have read one of your novels, what made you get into the paranormal genre?

I have always had a fascination for things that go bump in the night. Whether its ghosts, werewolves, vampires or the far-scarier real things human beings do to one another, fear is an element of life that

fascinates me, along with obsession. I guess those two things led me into

writing horror/paranormal fiction. Plus, I spent my childhood watching…

Animal Planet's "Monsters Inside Me" tonight at 10pm EST - "Shape Shifters" - August 25th, Wednesday

My daughter's story will be on Animal Planet's "Monsters Inside Me" tonight, August 25th, at 10pm EST. She was adopted from Nepal at 3 and five years later had a tapeworm in her brain. I wrote her story a well as her sister's in my book Children of Dreams. Ours is supposed to be the first segment of three. Today Manisha is a healthy 19-year-old. Be inspired! And learn how to prevent the most common neurological parasitic infection in the…

The Thinker's Thesaurus - Indeed! Review by Lauren S. Smith

The Thinker's Thesaurus - http://thinkersthesaurus.com

The Thinker's Thesaurus: Sophisticated Synonyms for Basic Words, by Peter Meltzer, goes beyond the realm of what we think a "thesaurus" should be by providing us with a level of useful words that exceeds what we've become used to in a normal thesaurus. The thesaurus that most of us are accustomed to suggests words that can be boring and repetitive. Meltzer gives us words contained…

The Writer's Loft Project

The Writer's Loft project is complete with eight episodes now on the cable channels here in San Diego. The best way to catch an episode, no matter where you are, is by visiting DelMarTV.com where the shows are digitally streamed to your computer screen. The schedule is available at their site and the shows are available three times a week.

Next project is to complete book trailers on four books. I'm looking for an illustrator to do B&W sketches for one of the trailers.

Fashionistas from the 1830's

I'm taking a break from fretting over what's going to happen to my Leisure Book contracts to do a little actual writerly research for my Brava Novella.

In every age, the goal of fashion is the same. How can we best attract a member of the opposite sex? Sometimes, fashion takes matters to extremes and I'm finding a few in my 1830's setting for IMPROPER GENTLEMEN. After the Regency, not quite Victorian, the Romantic era is its own little fashion world. Come check out what's hanging in… Continue

Guest Post Q & A with Mark Coker Founder of Smashwords

When did the light bulb go on for you that held the Smashwords idea?

I don't recall it as a single light bulb moment. More like one of those dimmer lights that slowly gets brighter and brighter. In my case, the light got brighter as I realized how broken the traditional book

publishing industry had become from the perspective of authors who wanted to

publish, and readers who wanted the freedom to read the greatest diversity…
