Winning Essay Sparks Book Character

This is my winning essay entered in an Iowa Health Care Association contest about a resident at the local nursing home where I worked. This woman made such an impression on me that I made her the main character, Gracie Evans, in my Amazing Gracie Mystery Series. Meet my Gracie Evans in this post and next week I'll post about the first book, Neighbor Watchers, in my mystery series.

New Self-Publishing Company To Open in September!

Just an FYI, everybody.  A company got together because they were tired of authors falling through the cracks during this economy - where publishers are really uninterested in 'newcomers' or unwilling to take a chance.

Word is these people were also sick and tired of hearing all these sites say they're free - when, in essence, the fine print is that you have to buy a certain number of books.  All of these companies are in it for themselves :)  This company has hired the best…

An Ode To Shark Week!

Hey there, readers! I have GOT to share with you one of the most amazing books I have read in a long time! First off, let me tell all of you out there that this author is more heralded than J.K. Rowling is in my household. My daughter has been dreaming about swimming with sharks since she was five. No, not because I was a bad mother and she wanted to get away from me, but because - while her grandmother was babysitting…

Die, Lover ,Die Top Suspense Group

Included in the synopsis is a complete listing of the authors of the Top Suspense group.Take them all in they are some heavy hitters. The story itself and the experiment read like a good time, like the authors were enjoying themselves and totally in the zone as they ran off each other and tried to top one another with their prose and descriptive ability. I am a fan of many of the authors of this group and enjoyed trying to pick out what portions they may have written. My percentage of…

Voice Check: Who Is Master and Who Is Slave of Self Within?

When was the last time you had a VC? Yeah, that’s right - a voice check. I had one today, yesterday and the day before that. And I’ll have one tomorrow, the next day, and the day after that, and the day after those, too. Until I become master of self, I’ll live the rest of my days engaging in VC’s. Actually, I have several VC’s throughout the day.

“Why is conducting a voice check so important”, you might ask?…

The Air Guy Angelique LaFontaine

The cover is simplistic for a reason; I really didn’t want to give much away with but, the fog does play a part in the story. That being said, Angelique Lafontaine’s writing style has grown on me. Her viewpoint is different; she finds a good way to twist things unexpectantly, and she seems to have fun with the story. I thoroughly enjoy that when it comes out in the story. The bang for the buck is here; don’t hesitate to download this story or any of her others: “The Matriarch”, and “Gone is…
