Book Review: The Nameless Prince, by Dominick R. Domingo

The Nameless Prince is a beautifully-crafted debut YA novel about faith, disillusionment and innocence.

Ten-year old Seth Bauman lives in the gang-ravaged streets of Silver Lake. Abandoned by his mother right after his birth, he shares a very dysfunctional and loveless home with his mean Uncle Troy and his uncle’s girlfriend Cheryll. Rather than care for the young…

Working With A Child Illustrator.

While writing "The Adventures Of Mopey The Mini Horse" I had many distractions and as the say, "life got in the way". The book,  which began as a blog rapidly became and obsession.

When I made the decision to finally pull down my blog and rewrite it as a children's book, I was faced with a difficult task of finding the right…

The secret

I’ve been thinking about hiring Smith Publicity when I’m finished writing IMAGINATION and have spent the last few days researching them and all they do. If I do sign with them it would mean huge exposure by the ways of television and radio interviews. For some authors they have gotten over fifty interviews. The question is will the royalties made by more exposure offset the costs of a major publicity firm? I haven’t contacted them yet so I don’t know what they charge but I’m…

Today's Little Ramblings

It's Friday night here in the land of Oz. My two sons are messing about in the loungeroom with the young lad who is having a sleepover, and I am pondering the imminent signing of the contract for my next book, 'Silver Studs & Sabre Teeth' - the title is a homage to the song 'Megal Guru' by T-Rex. One of my secondary characters is a Marc Bolan impersonator. Who, like me, is of the view that we need more Marc Bolan impesonators in fine literature? Who cares about boy wizards and vampires?…

Better Book Marketing: Choosing the right target market

I don’t like coffee. Never have. I prefer tea. So if I go to the supermarket and there is a sale on coffee, I buy tea. And if there is a sweepstakes to win a pound of coffee, I push my cart on by.

So what does this have to do with book marketing you ask? Because when it comes to buying books my habits are very similar to my habits when I am deciding whether to buy the coffee, or the tea. I read in the same genres, over and over again.

As an author, it is important to remember…

A Grace That Is Greater Than Life's Pace

A GRACE THAT IS GREATER THAN LIFE'S PACE

My God has spoken to my heart on two occasions and each time it was under different circumstances.  The first night I was attending a Spirit filled church, hearing a tremendous sermon when Satan filled my mind with thoughts of hell.  As I drove home that evening in tears, telling God I didn’t deserve his Holy Spirit, a peace fell in that car like I had never felt…
