Making ornaments with your hands

Whatever your style or budget

Your personal touch can be tropic

Nightmares Can Be Murder - Review by Martha A. Cheves, Author of Stir, Laugh, Repeat; Think With Your Taste Buds; A Book and A Dish

See a smokey John Deere tractor

Unleash yourself in an Oliver

Dhamma Talk in a Cafeteria

Sakyamuni did not take any belongings with him. He left the palace empty-handed. The god Indra presented him with kasavapastra clothes at the bank of the Anoma River. So you see, the gods come to help you if you deserve it.

Life is full of chaos which can hardly be untangled. Make merits, forsake evil deeds, and refrain from paths of ruin. You are either progressing or regressing. The bees search for sweet-smelling nectar but fly  only likes bad-smelling things.  Which one are you?…

Book Discussion, sales and signing by Fay Risner October 27, 2014

Strange how things work out. The first Saturday in August, my husband and I went to town wide yard sales with his sister in State Center, Iowa. One sale we didn't want to miss was the library's garage full of books. We had a good time going through all the books. I may have my winter's supply of material although I have read three already.

My sister-in-law…

Interesting Week!

It’s been an interesting week for me and my books. First, I’m involved in a review program with Choosy Bookworm.com. So far nearly thirty copies of DROP OUT and about ten copies of THE END TIME have been sent to anonymous reviews who promise to post an honest review on Amazon and Goodreads in exchange for a free copy of the book. The reviews are just now coming in and all I can say is “Wow”. It’s nice to know that and read how much people like the stories. Check out the new 5-stars for…

Poem: Let Me Touch His Garment

Many doctors had failed to heal her;

her wealth was gone; unable to cope,

seemingly having no options left, she…

faced the idea of being bereft of hope.

A difficult issue of continual bleeding,

had bothered this woman for twelve years;

purposely maneuvering through the crowd,

she hoped to meet Christ, and draw near.

“If only, I could physically touch Him,

my personal need can be forever met.”

Summoning the last of her inner strength,…

Woodsmen Day

Woodsmen Day ( Poem)

Sport using handsaws

With a toothed edge blade

One or two handed sawing

On a woodsmen fair day

Traditional log rolling

Is a lumberjacks technique

Style used in river driving

The illustration is unique

Springboard tree is branchless

With live action you can’t beat

Platform board is dangerous

A risk if you compete

Block ax chopping

Is a loggers sport indeed

Hard on your back swinging

Be…

Unintentional Incidents

Johnny and Basil were in the same class and graduated from the same university abroad.  One day Johnny called up and said he was on his way to report duty in Australia and would like to drop in to have a cup of tea with Basil. Basil invited him to stay with the family because he had an extra room.  Johnny thought it was a great idea. He dropped in and met Basil in the office, and later came to stay with the family for one night. The next morning, it was also his time to leave.

The…

Opportunity: It's Before You

I have been reading some dismal statistics about reading and book sales lately. One statistic I ran across was reported by Brian Judd, Executive Director of APSS. He stated that according to BookScan, 93% of books published sell less than 100 copies. To be honest, I am finding that statistic a little hard to swallow.…

An exciting experience

My book Actress has been accepted by two different translation sites, to be translated into Simplified Chinese on one and Spanish on the other.

The sites are Babelcube, which is translating the book into Spanish, and Fiberead, which is translating it into Chinese.

Both sites work on a shared-split basis, whereby the translators and I share any profits. I don't pay…
