On the same day, when evening had come, He said to them, “Let us cross over to the other side.” Now when they had left the multitude, they took Him along in the boat as He was. And other little boats were also with Him. And a great windstorm arose, and the waves beat into the boat, so that it was already filling. But He was in the stern, asleep on a pillow. And they awoke Him and said to Him, “Teacher, do You not care that we are perishing?” Then He arose and… Continue

this poem is dedicated to the memory of those who have past away too soon. This poem is an excerpt from my debut book The Great Invitation in stores now. L.I.P. was inspired by the death of a friends daughter who tragically lost her life while pregnant after she was struck by a car in a gang fight. R.I.P.… Continue

By now, we should all know that book covers sell books. Sadly, most writers still don’t get this fact and because of this, I’ve decided to provide the rules of Book Cover Design. These rules will decide whether a buyer picks up your book and turns it around or even decides to buy it.
Rule #1—The Cover Must Make Sense—
How many times have you seen a book cover and you had no idea what the book was about? There is nothing more irritating to a buyer than to see a book cover on the shelf… Continue

For two Christmases I have done what I call the Twelve Days of Christmas book giveaway extravaganza! Well I am trying to get a head start this time so even though it is still a few months away I would like to invite all authors that would like to participate. Normally I would do a interview, but this time I think I am going to do sort of a themed idea. If I get more than 12 people do not worry that will be fine, I would like to expand and do the 25 days of Christmas so if I get a lot of people… Continue
My publishers have had my non fiction book for about 4 months. I was waiting for the proofs to come through and then the editor wrote me stating I need written permissions from all the people mentioned in my book. An impossible task, considering I haven;t seen any of these people for 30 years. They also said if couldn't obtain the permission I would have to re-write my book and prove that all people in in the book are fictious which contradicts the point of the story.… Continue
The old question is still "Do we use creative thinking or go with the flow." We can create our reality and environment, thereby living the life we want. We can create our environment or it will create us.
My book comes out in just a few weeks and it has taken me over two years to get here. What I have found is that the book, (which I know I was suppose to write after ten years of researching and not finding any answers to my own experience) is taking me on a journey and so I thought it would be good to share what I have learned along the way.
Not only did I find out more about this dream experience by interviewing over 300 people but also in the last year by taking my book across the… Continue

Be aware that WL Writers Agency is a scam operation, latest incarnation of Robert Fletcher and cronies. They prey on auhors and make them their customer base. Am shocked to see them still in biz and using an ad on this site ... which just plummeted in my esteem.
best wishes and beware to all honest authors who need a break out there. And I wouldn't trust any advertiser on this site now.

Who Would I Be Without, Based on a True Story of a Little Willingness, by Jim McDonald. One reader calls it a self-help novel that demonstrates rather than informs.

He stopped trying to change and instead began to honestly look at who he was right now, with often gut-wrenching honesty, changed happened on its own and his… Continue

Have you ever heard someone tell you to “go to your happy place”? This is often a recommendation we receive when we are dealing with a lot of stress or heartache. The point is to escape, as least in our minds, to a different environment in which we can experience peace and serenity. We are all unique individuals, so I am sure that everyone’s “happy place” is specific to their… Continue
