Things to Consider While Self-Publishing Your Novel

As a newbie author, you have no option but to self-publish unless you have reliable connections with publishers. “How to self publish” is the general wondering when an author nears the completion of his novel. There are different ways to do it – finding a printer, self-publishing as an eBook, by a Print on Demand (POD) or by a Vanity Press or Subsidy Publishing. There is a plethora of self-publishing companies and their…

The printing industry is experiencing several changes in recent times. One of the largest advents of the modern publishing world is the popularity and increasing significance of self publishing. A letter to all indie writers and readers

I’ve been a compulsive writer for nearly thirty years. I’ve published nine books and I’ve even won some literary awards. I’ve been interviewed by major newspapers and local magazines. I recognize that a real writer is supposed to create stories for the art itself, ignoring the fickle heart of the market place and corporate profits. I know all about papering my walls with rejection slips and the joy of selling that first copy of a new manuscript.…

Fulfilling Week

It’s been quite a week, one way or another. Having finished and read through my manuscript, I printed it out (double spaced) for my wife, Pat, to do a read-through. By page two she was happily wielding the red pen and completed the MS by the end of the week. I value her contribution because she sees many things that I don’t, which is an enormous help. I began my read-through yesterday, Saturday, and hope to have it completed by the end of this week. Then it will be sent to my publisher. If…

Four Publishing Houses That Take Submissions Directly From Writers

It is becoming increasingly rare to find publishing houses that will accept manuscripts directly from writers.

Constantly thinking leads me to constantly writing.  You know.  However, updating a website has been more of a challenge to me.
