Who will save the World?

Who Will Save the World? “This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.” (2 Timothy 3:1) The word perilous means dangerous or exposure to the risk of being injured, destroyed, or lost. The rest of the verses express where most of the danger shall come from and also the reason for the promised peril that shall come. “For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents,… Continue

“Hand over the chocolate and no one gets hurt!”

Whenver I'm sitting down - which isn't very often - I feel compelled to be reading something. Anything. Even the back of a cereal box. I've loved books since mom and dad read aloud to me as a little sprout. If I'm not reading, I'm usually writing. My newest title, Guys and Other Near Humans was released last spring by Uncial Press.

I've authored ten books to date, including… Continue

This Week 200

The air has turned chilly here in the Las Vegas desert and that's got me thinking about the holidays. This week's issue incorporates a bit of that theme with ideas on gift and thanks giving. I also share a short piece on my experience with Web browsers.

We're into the first week of NaNoWriMo and it's going well. I've got about 10k words in a new novel. Very exciting. It bothers me that the NaNoWriMo Website has been overwhelmed since the start of the month, but I guess we all should… Continue

From the desk of homicide detective Sam Harper

It’s snowing again. Big wet flakes plunge from the evening sky to the streets below. From my fourth floor window the scenery looks as peaceful as the pictures on the Christmas cards Emma keeps on her desk. But the new layer of snow reminds me of the bodies piling up in the morgue. I close my eyes—each victim’s face flashes before them.

I curse under my breath and try to make sense of the killings.

Superstitions and biblical prophesies—old wives’ tales told to scare the… Continue

Thief In the Night ( Excerpt from the book "The Great Invitation")

The Thief in the Night

For you yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night,

Watch; be sober for all that profess to be children of God, followers of Christ must be to this dark world children of light.

And I shout Silence! Let us all give a listening ear,

Can’t you hear the prophecies of the word of God speaking he is near.

Discernment: Lessons on a Path to Light

"In every one of us there is the yearning for life, for knowledge, for happiness.”

Swami Yatiswarananda, Meditation & Spiritual Life

Recently I heard, “When one lives with an open heart there is no need for protection.” This is a simple truth; it is on a Path to Light that we develop this ability of detachment from the energy, reactions and actions of others, as well as our self as defined by the ego. There are lessons along the way that assist in reaching this goal,… Continue

The Secret & Law of Attraction as Fabrications of Greed

“The enemy will hide in the last place you would ever look.”

Julius Caesar, 75 B.C.

The pursuit of happiness and peace is caught in, and now churn and grease the wheels of, consumerism, commercialism and materialism. This ultimately makes a mockery of spirituality and the quest for meaning in our lives, and never so dynamically and ubiquitously as both The Secret and the ‘Law of Attraction’. For years we have been hearing and literally ‘buying into’ the promise that we can… Continue
