Winner in NaNoWriMo contest for November 2014

This morning, I wrote over the 50,000 words needed to be considered one of the winners in the National Novel Writing Month contest (nanowrimo). This is my fifth year for entering the contest, and it has taken me this long to be able to write that title without having to look it up to get the words in order.

Now begins the editing which takes longer…

The Chinese Dilemma

This greed which seizes them tenaciously, is embedded in their subconscious part of the mind, for so long that their stubbornness and tenacity grow stronger every day. Even if they have accumulated 1 000000 tons of gold in the Swiss Bank, they would still be not satisfied and would not be happy if they have not cheated or swindled for just one day. It is indeed more thuggery than anything else. The overseas Chinese are squeezed in these countries.

Those evil racists want to…

Poem: The Grace of Giving

O, there are plenty of untold blessings

that are wrapped in the grace of giving,

but too many are missed by selfishness

and the failure to uphold Christian living.

Real giving is an act of self-denying love,

an act of faith, obedience and worship;

it’s also an act of the sacred and prophetic,

being reflective of our true relationship

with the Father, Who is watching over us.

When we’re moved by Faith’s spiritual shiver,

many facets of…

Ukraine 2014 and For the Children

With the crossing of 32 Russian tanks and 30 armored vehicles into Ukraine a few days ago and the continuing influx of heavy arms and military personnel, Vladimir Putin has openly invaded yet another sovereign country. This, after many months of instigating instability, first in Crimea―which he then annexed―and then in the Eastern Ukrainian ‘oblasts’ of Donetsk and Lukhansk, resulting in the loss of more than 4000 lives since April, and the creation…

I'm still alive

I haven't been around much lately because "real life" as we love to poetically call it has taken a toll. We bought a house that ended up needing WAY more work than we thought (like gutting the bathroom for example), I've been working almost non stop (and not at writing sadly) trying to keep us afloat while hubby looks for a full time job - not so easy when his main qualifications are healthcare and we don't know anyone in this county (typical small town you gotta know someone to get…

The White Horse of Revelation: Christ or Antichrist?

By Eli of Kittim

The current view holds that the first horseman of the Apocalypse represents the Antichrist (the assumption is as follows: if Christ already came, then the white horse must be referring to the Antichrist).

Here’s why the mainstream view is wrong.

(1) There are no counterfeit signs found anywhere in the Bible. So why should this be a precedent?

That is, why would a white horse (a symbol of purity and righteousness) represent…

My Battle against Hitler

The book, My Battle against Hitler: Faith, Truth, and Defiance in the Shadow of the Third Reich by Dietrich Von Hildebrand, translated and edited by John Henry Crosby with John F. Crosby is one of the most interesting and inspirational works I have ever read.  The book was designed with a reader like me in mind – someone who loves history but needs explanations about…

Shooting the Basket

For the past three months, this guy

has been shooting the basket all alone

from 7pm to 9 pm every day.

I asked him why

he was so interested in shooting

the basket but

never care to be a team player?

The Grace of Yes

A great new book out! Here’s my review:

Grace of Yes The Grace of Yes by Lisa Hendey is an extraordinary book for one great reason – it is invaluably honest.  There are many “how to” and “self-help” books dishing out advice about everything from eating well to becoming holy, but this book offers well thought out, honest reflections on very basic human…

Janet was her name

She was the rose of the class

She picked and dumped boys

Just like we picked and threw away

the wild flowers.

Her best choice were the personnel from

the fighting services

She would boast of the number of men

queuing for her company

She wanted to prove to the world

that she was irresistible

She invited the top boy of the class

to give her tuition on Maths and…
