On the way home from Denver after Christmas, my son Kenton and I discussed marketing his up-coming release Unikra. He's convinced his marketing plan will work, so we discussed his strategies. He likes networking and has set out to create a dynamic network of people who will buy his book. He's 13 and already has a vast following at http://kentonverhoeff.com and it continues to grow.
His strategy is clear. He's making friends whom he can tell when he publishes his book, who will tell…

The First Step in Manifesting is Knowing
Recently I asked what I wanted from my life, what did successful mean to me? I needed to think about it for a while. Being a Gemini, there is so much that I wanted for myself and others-eye, there be one of the rubs. For as much as I may want the world to be peacefully wonderful, it is not my right or responsibility to make it so. With so much diversity of paths and soul challenges, there is no one quick fix solution--no magic wand or one path…

With just a few days to go to the end of the month, please may I ask any of my friends who haven't yet voted to support 'The Nemesis Cell's' nomination for this month's
New Covey Cover Awards.
The superb artwork is by the hugely talented Graeme S Houston and the book is due for publication by 4RV Publishing. As always I sincerely appreciate every vote that comes my…

Once again my wife has created a down to earth, yet heart warming piece of literature. The depths that she reaches when writes will touch anyone who reads. BJ's strong faith in God has helped her over come many obsticles in life, and I think this is one of the many ways BJ gives back to others that are aroud her.
With love

I am looking to work with churches, bookstores, universities, and/or malls to host a day-long Christian author booksigning and/or panel discussion in 2009 for
Christian Authors on Tour. The event would not only showcase a dynamic group of Christian fiction and nonfiction authors, but it could serve as a great fundraiser for your church and/or bookclub in 2009.

Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting. And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.-Galatians 6:7-9
Can anything we do be done in secret when Proverbs 15:3 says
“The eyes of the LORD are… Continue

Yesterday, whilst waiting for the Brussels sprouts to boil, inhaling the aroma of a Quorn roast in the oven, and listening to Bing Crosby sing about peace on earth and good will towards men, I was visited by the ghost of Christmas past and he gave me cause to wince a little. It's not that Christmases have ever been entirely ruined by our nuisance neighbours in the past, but that was never for the want of trying on their part. Sufficiently malevolent all year round, they always favoured this…

Hope you had a wonderful Christmas!
Today, I'm blogging about the TWILIGHT phenomenon over at t
The Chatelaines. Personally vampires don't do it for me, so I'm trying to understand the draw. If you've seen the movie or read the book, I'd love to have your take on the appeal of this rising series.
Talk to you soon!

Almost exactly a year ago at the end of December 2007 I had the epiphany that I didn’t need to wait any longer for someone to say yes to me. I signed up for BookSurge – Amazon’s print-on-demand publisher – to publish my novel
MRS. LIEUTENANT.
In January I learned that MRS. LIEUTENANT had been chosen as a semi-finalist in the Amazon Breakthrough Novel Award (an occurrence totally separate from the BookSurge decision). Amazon gave each of us…

This Week 206
Happy Holidays!
It's been another exciting week. Patchwork Path: Grandma's Choice, the first of the new Patchwork Path series, has been printed. Instead of waiting for freight shipment, I'll be driving down to our California printer on Monday to pick up the books. We had a fun mailing party this week where, along with a group of friends, we stuffed, labeled, and stamped about 800 envelopes for both a wholesale and retail mailing campaign.
The…

I am a Calendar Girl!
For 2009, I created a beautiful calendar of awesome photographs of the beauty of Colorado. Being that my husband likes to take lots of photos of me, I inserted myself as Miss August in the 2009 calendar.
Nothing racey, mind you... Just a photo of me sitting on a log at the falls.

RainToday.com, a website for professionals who want to grow their business, offers a weekly a newsletter called
The Rainmaker Report. In an issue last year, they pointed to an article on their website about Three Profitable Branding Models for Experts by Vickie K. Sullivan.
It's a great article for anyone thinking about building a platform, including authors. Most of the examples in the article were authors. A great read. Check it out here:…

I AM
For Christmas and 2009 I wish you the Power of the Name of Jesus!
To Moses at the burning bush, God revealed His Name: I AM (Ex. 3: 14) He is the God of Now: He is ever present. He forgives the past, He will guide you through the future, but He is concerned with who you are and what you are going through right now!
As a Child Of The Most High God, I Can Say With Confidence:
I AM - A Child of God (Rom. 8:16)
I AM - Redeemed from the Hand of…
