An introduction to the Indigo Girls

Just listened to the Indigo Girls' new CD "Happy Holly Days" and I have to say it was pretty good. This is coming from someone of course who isn't a big fan of Christmas music. If the Indigo Girls put out a CD there is no way that I can pass it up. The girls have been a huge inspiration ever since I first heard them in Peni Lotoza's car after we got out of work at Terror on Church Street back in '93. 'Blood and Fire' was the first song I had ever heard and though many had…

Jeffery Deaver Edge

I just need to get this out from the start: I loved this novel, seriously, loved it! This will definitely be in my top five reads of the year, not the quarter, the year. Synopsis first then let the love fest begin:

“When Washington D.C. police detective Ryan Kessler is targeted by Henry Loving, he and his family are immediately put under government protection. Loving is a ruthless "lifter", hired to

extract information from his victims,…

Entering book in competition, and whatever shall I read next?

Okay, today I completed an online application for the Western Australian Premier's Book Award, and I'll have to send five copies of 'Abernethy' to the judging panel. They don't return the books. What a rort! Be great if 'Abernethy' got an award, but I won't even know until June 2011.

Just watched a new Australian television series about a criminal barrister in Sydney. I worked in that very industry in that very city for a long time before my tree change. Not sure whether it's…

Jodi Langston Nature of The Beast

Seriously power packed day here @ Gelati’s Scoop. I have another page turner here but it is of the virtual pages that I speak this time: Jodi Langston and her novel Nature of The Beast. I want to get right the particulars

of the novel so as not to waste any more time or virtual ink:

“When the doors open at the Star Light Casino in Brody, Minnesota, a serial killer turns it into his hunting ground. The challenge of two unsolved murders and…

Romantic Wednesday Bethany Pierce Amy Inspired

Amy Inspired is truly an engaging and challenging novel. Where do you sit on the questions that she poses? This is after all a romance novel, one injected with humor, humanity, and the human condition. Here is the

synopsis so maybe you can catch a little flavor of what is in the pages: ”Amy

Gallagher is an aspiring writer who, after countless rejections, has settled

for a career as an English professor in small-town Ohio just to pay the bills.

Roamntic Wednesday Kristen Heitzmann A Rush of Wings

I didn’t know that this was a repackaged version of her 2003 novel. Previous to getting this, I didn’t know much about her, so please excuse me for featuring something old as new. Nonetheless, there are some novels that

stand the test of time, and love, relationships, and broken hearts and seem as

timeless as a Frankie Vallie single. Here is what is going on in the novel,

check it out:

“Running from terrors both recent and…
