Uncovering the Simplicity of Ancient Human Culture

Unlike other tangible things, human culture doesn’t leave fossils behind. Except for written accounts from ancient materials and observations made by different scientific disciplines, we don’t have much to use in order to gain insights about the past. That’s what makes human culture a sensitive and contentious subject of study.

But, don’t worry. There are still ways to revisit ancient civilizations and get to know the earliest culture without reading too many books. Since primitive…

In the words of William Bircher

William Bircher lived in Minnesota when fighting began in the civil war. Like most 15 year-old boys William was excited by this war business. William wanted to become a solider and help the union army defeat the confederacy. At first he was rejected by the union army because he was too young. Fortunately “company K” of the Minnesota regiment needed a drummer. Bircher was allowed to join the union forces, as a drummer boy. http://bit.ly/1OJdFpF

Wrapping up.

6 December 2015

Three weeks to go and Christmas Day will be a memory. For the majority of us a happy one, but for many around the world it will be the opposite. The Fall of the House of Usher

Although my book, The Poe Consequence, features ideas borrowed more from The Tell-Tale Heart and The Pit and the Pendulum, I do utilize one very important concept concerning specific lines from one of Edgar Allan Poe’s most renowned works, “The Fall of the House of Usher.” First published in the year 1839, this remarkably horrifying Gothic tale features a dark, depressing landscape, a haunted mansion, a strange disease, and a dead body. http://bit.ly/1N4MRf0

The Origin of Mankind: The Journey From Ape to Man

Where do we come from?  Were we made in the image of God? Or did we evolve from apes, gorillas, and chimps? Well, when Charles Darwin published his book On the Origin of Species in 1859, he argued for the idea of the evolution of new species from earlier ones. And it was suggested that there’s a link between humans and primates. http://bit.ly/1lr1v94
