Like History?

My article, The Man Who Raised Old Glory, is in the January-February issue of Pennsylvania Magazine. Captain Edward Williams, a heroic Keystoner, climbed the ramparts of the fortress at Chapultepec to raise the Betsy Ross flag in September 1847 in the Mexican War.

Li Bai's Shadow-Book Review

Li Bai’s Shadow

By Lee J. Marvin

This was an amazing read! Once I started, I couldn’t stop reading and pondering it. It is a book that I will read and probably re-read in time.

The book is about a young girl, Caitlin Wang. The heart-warming tale follows the child of this young girl with OCD. She has an imaginary friend, Li Bai. He only exists in her mind now. But she clearly sees him in her dollhouse.

Li…

NEIGHBORS: The Yard Critters, Book 1 by George Held

A wonderful way for children to learn about the critters in their yard.

As soon as I received this book I knew it was going to be something special. I sat with my little granddaughter who loves animals, and together we enjoyed this wonderful selection of poems written by George Held, and beautifully illustrated by the talented Joung Un Kim.

Having written a book during NaNoWri Mo contest for seven years, I love the challenge of writing 50,000 words by the last day in November. This time I was had over 51,000 by the sixteenth day. According to the site's stats, I have 363,754 words written for the contest in the last seven years. Before I published each of those books, the total was more.

Literary Review, IN THE WEEDS

I received a literary review from Martha A. Cheves (BookTown Review), who put a big smile on my face.

"I sat on Bian's bed, staring out the only window in the tiny room.  She'd been looking west, toward the Everglades.  The fleeting patches of sun a couple days ago probably would have seemed familiar to her, perhaps like her memories of Vietnam.  Here, she'd known nothing but…

A must read for anyone interested in Indian history.

This fascinating journey into Indian history is set in the third millennium BCE. Through the author’s thorough investigation into this era, and extremely descriptive writing, these splendid days of the Mesopotamian and Indus Valley civilisations are brought to life for his readers.
