Hi, I'm Sean Toh from Singapore

Hi all,

My name is Sean. My first day here at Book Marketing Network. I have just written my first book called the "4 Steps To Financial Freedom". It was really a learning experience for me who knows nothing about writing, publishing and marketing book.

I have written the book, self-published and distributed the book to local bookstores in Singapore. Now, the big challenge is to market the book into a best-seller one in Singapore.

Well, I'm still learning and hope to…

Where 'The Bleep' Did My Identity Go?

I am a die-hard Mac user. Have been for over twenty years and it only gets better. The PC certainly has its place but for creative projects well… the Mac is superior and the good news is is that Mac’s do not get viruses.

My partner is a die-hard PC user. If you ever viewed the recent Mac commercials then you can imagine our relationship. I have recently added creative video production to my advertising agency’s services and my partner began to feel a bit competitive. I have always… Continue

Why win the game of business?

Why would you want to win the game of business!

In the end, the reason we all want business success is to be happy. But you want to be happy in all areas of your life, don’t you? Of course you do. We all do. So why do so many of us try to separate our business lives from the rest of our lives?

My opinion? Big mistake.

People typically spend 50 – 60 hours a week at work, and, if you own a business, you spend another 20 hours thinking about it. So any… Continue

To Write Or Not To Write

It’s amazing how many people I encountered during my restaurant days and continue to stumble upon now in my day job as a restaurant consultant who glibly say, “I’ve always wanted a restaurant.” I coined the name, “Restabees,” for these…

HELP!

What a fabulous site! I look forward to learning and sharing what I as a "newbie" am learning about marketing my book. Without question, John's book has been dog-eared and tattered from use. What a great contribution that is.

My first goal is to get out there and learn how "our" site works. The networking concept is tried and true with me. BB (before book) my most requested workshop was The Science of Networking and the Art of Connection.

BMN Rearrangements

Regular visitors to this network will note that I rearranged the layout so the blog entries and forums are at the tip since that's what most people are using. I also put the photos higher to encourage more people to submit their photos. The videos are still here, but more down the page in the center. Also the popular members are still here, but lower on the left.

Using Book Marketing Network

It seems like most network members are using the blog posts rather than the forums to communicate. And I can see why. The blog posts are much more visible. To really use this network and create good working relationships with others on this network, also check out the network home pages for each member. The home pages on BMN feature all a users blog posts, comments, forum posts, photos, videos posted, etc.

Also check out the forums. While they are less visible, they are…

Lisa, a fellow BMN member, has been on Oprah!

Ok, sorry for posting two blog posts so soon - but, I have been exchanging messages with my newest friend, Lisa Braun Dubbels, and I poked around her site for a few only to find that she's been on Oprah! I don't even watch Oprah, but I still thought that it was cool, so I thought that I'd share. :)

Anyone else been on a huge media outlet that…

Book Signing Tips

I notice others put a link in instead of writing it all out to make the entry shorter, so I put the tips that came from authors all over on book signings. You'll find them at www.shirleydicks.net/signingtips.htm I hope they help....when ever someone sends me something to ad to it, I ad so maybe some of them will seem like the same tip....but I think it's a good listing. Think of Professional Design As An Investment For Your Company

Graphic Design is not 'playing'. Graphic Design is a business tool that exists to enhance communication of ideas, messages and thoughts. A professional design firm knows the importance of turning clients into partners in the process and show them how to see design as an investment for their long-term business goals. Design firms need to think more like consultants and less like Wal-mart: "Attention All Customers: book cover designs can be found in isle 3, Websites found in isle 8...… Continue

Jesus had nothing to do with Christianity

Then the Lord saith: “You have a Hispanic body this time because no other culture names their kids “Jesus.” If you had a white body and entered into a Christian family and were named Jesus, you would have a lot of unnecessary problems growing up. Nope, Jesus wouldn’t work these days for a white guy.”…

First fiction about Sherpas of Nepal

Beyond the Summit is the first fiction about the Sherpas of Nepal .I used to lead treks to the Everest Base camp and know their culture well. The book has received 5 star reviews from everyone. All who read it say it's a movie waiting to be made because of the powerful love story between an American journalist and Sherpa guide, the exotic setting, the climbing scenes told through the eyes of the porters.

How do i bring this to the anttention fo anyone in the movie industry?

I love being the new guy...

I just wanted to post a quick 'hello' to everyone here on this network, it looks like there is some great stuff going on over here. I'm glad to now be a part of it. :)

If any of you have questions regarding marketing your book online and via social networks (MySpace, etc.), feel free to send them my way and I'll try to answer them to my upmost ability (which can be shaky at times I must admit...).

If you want to see me in video form,…
