How to Keep People from Making Big Mistakes

I found this interest little tidbit in a book review of Billion Dollar Lessons by Paul B. Carroll and Chunka Mui. Sometimes if you want people to do what you want, you have to give them a big stake in the issue:

After World War I, more than 75 percent of U.S. Air Mail pilots died in crashes on the job. The mortality rate was eased only when the Postal Service required the managers who ordered pilots out in bad weather to go along for the ride.

Ten Million Eyeballs in Colorado cancelled

I am having to cancel the Ten Million Eyeballs Event in Boulder, Colorado, due to a problem with our landlord and the next door tenant for the townhouse that my wife and I reside in right now. Because both the landlord and the tenant are irrational people, I really have to stay here during this time to protect my wife from harm.

BookExpo America in LA

BookExpo is lightly attended this year, but still active. Lots of things happening. The authors and publishers who are here in LA are optimistic about the coming year in book sales.

POD, ebooks, and other formats for books are becoming commonplace. Lots of new developments in this department.

May You Be Blessed: From 10 People to 3 Million

Kate Nowak, the creator of the May You Be Blessed video, kicked off her movie by emailing it to 10 people. The movie, forwarded on to many, many friends of friends, was seen by 3 million people in the first six months.
