Calling All Book Lovers

After going to an Estate sale some time back I bought some vintage books.  Most were cookbooks, some weren't.  After going by the same house the day after the sale I stopped to see if the other books were bought.  I was told no that they went into the dumpster that went to the land fill.  Not all end up in the land fills.  Some are sent to be recycled.  But no…

Poem: She Gave More

One ordinary day at the temple,

Jesus purposed to watch people go by;

He observed their heart attitudes,

without them… even knowing why.

He watched the gait of the proudly rich,

dressed in their expensive clothes;

they jingled a portion of their wealth

and drew attention with uplifted noses.

Christ properly noticed and judged the scene

of them depositing their offering coins,

disappointed that they collected their reward

(of pride) below the…

Another independent, local bookstore has the book!

I managed to cross state lines and get another book into an indie bookstore! If you're in Mississippi go and check out Bay Books on Main street. The owner is very accomodating and she has two very cool cats that take up residence inside. Most importantly, you can get a copy of I Wandered from New Orleans right off the shelf! In real live bookstores in New Orleans, Mississippi and Atlanta! It's too bad that poetry is mostly disregarded by people as being too complicated and vague.…

My books are on New Orleans bookstore shelves!! My take on Parasol's

Had a great day today! I first sent off three books that are on their way to Charis Books and More in Little Five Points, Atlanta. Then we drove down to New Orleans to hit some of the indie bookstores to see if I could get I Wandered from New Orleans onto some real bookstore shelves. It was a great success! Some books were bought outright, some were placed on consignment. Brilliant day! So, for my NOLA peeps and pops who want to check it out firsthand and pick up a…

A Spirit of THANKS!

This is so COOL! I would have never imagined that there would be an online community exclusively for authors AND publishers. This thing is like FACEBOOK, only better. Because I can network with people who share my passions, reading, writing, and publishing. I can connect with the most important people right from my office. And it couldn't have come at a better time. I just completed my second novel! The Title is

WHEN THE PETALS FALL, a story about the twists and turns that one finds while… Continue

Apostle of Asphodel Released

The Asphodel Cycle concludes with the release of the final book, Apostle of Asphodel by Aspen Mountain Press. My epic fantasy series has been extraordinarily successful--far beyond what I thought it would be! Last year was really good to the series, with The Gift of Redemption garnering a Top Ten Sci-Fi/Fantasy Novel of the year award from Preditors & Editors and Temptation of Asphodel honored with a Top Ten Novel of 2008 nod from Preditors & Editors as well… Continue

Celina Summers' Asphodel Cycle Garners Multiple Award Nominations

Well, it’s nomination season and the gods have been good to me again–so good that I’m still reeling.

You remember last year when The Reckoning of Asphodel was a Top Ten finalist in the Preditors and Editors Annual Readers’ Poll as Best Sci Fi/Fantasy Novel of 2007? This year has surpassed last year and I am literally gobsmacked.

The Gift of Redemption
has been nominated by P&E for Best Science Fiction/Fantasy Novel of 2008.
