Hello Self-Publisher!
I am a newbie on this forum. I’m looking for some insights for something I’m working on.
Is anyone struggling with self-publishing on the Internet right now?
I'm looking into understanding and helping authors who want to self-publish on Amazon, Create Space, iUniverse or any other platform get past the book production stage and launch their books.
If you've finished your manuscript, however,…

My computer went to the fluffy cloud from where there was no return and I had to sit back watching the things I had put out on the world wide web growing old, becoming outdated & crumbling. (on the odd occasion I managed to borrow the use of anothers device) This month I was given a band new laptop. Having returned to the old fashioned yet reliable writing process of pen & paper I now have plenty of new material to share.
Some of you will think me wrong, but I have…

President Obama's recent public endorsement of Amazon - delivered in Amazon's warehouse in Chattanooga, Tennessee - has generated a firestorm of criticism from just about everybody: the GOP (which considers anything Obama says…

Catherine Astolfo retired in 2002 after a very successful 34 years in education. She can recall writing fantasy stories for her classmates in Grade Three, so she started finishing her books the day after her retirement became official. Her short stories and poems have been published in a number of Canadian literary presses. Her story, “What Kelly Did”, won the prestigious Arthur…

If you have recently published a book, you naturally want to keep tabs on how it is selling. Publishing houses will, of course, send you yearly or, for the larger houses, biannual royalty statements. That's a long wait for an impatient author. If you need instant gratification, your only real up-to-date…

The received wisdom of self-publishing is to place your book everywhere, and in all formats. I did that (mostly). And it didn’t work. This is why: Writers who finance their own work can’t possibly promote their books everywhere, and in all forms.
Book promotion is time-consuming enough as it is, but promoting a book to brick-and-mortar booksellers, libraries,…

I noticed that some e-books were over $10, but others were only $0.99!! I originally had my e-book priced at $5.99 but thought the price to be too expensive, so I lowered it down to $2.99. Am I doing this right? Is this a fair price for over three-hundred pages of fiction?
