The children in our lives are watching our relationships and our interactions with not only friends and family but those who are outside of our circle as well. By demonstrating love in the common things we do each day, it helps to create a world where love is expressed and…

Frances Farmer and a nice surprise...

If you haven't noticed, I have been taking an hiatus from writing.  But, that's not to say that my hiatus will be permanent.  Not by a long shot.  Instead, I have been immersed in reading autobiographies which always whet my appetite to write.

One of the books I had the pleasure of reading was about Frances Farmer.  I had always heard the stories and even saw a clip from the show, "This is Your Life" that featured her very dark life.  She was a hopeful, shining…

Our Life Leaves Clues That Lead To Our Life Purpose

Excerpt from Discover What You Are Here To Do: Find The Clues, Follow Your Path by best selling author Nicola Grace.

"When I’m on the road speaking, I often joke about the story of my life as if I’ve stuffed up, done everything wrong and made wrong decisions that lead me up the garden path of nowhere. Part of my introductory speech often goes something like this – “I wanted to be a dancer so I studied history. I wanted to live in a tropical country so I moved to Wisconsin. I wanted to…

You Are A Divine Being

You are not who you think you are. You are not that face you see in the mirror every morning. You are not someone’s child, or someone’s parent, or partner or friend. You are not the physical body you admire or criticize when you take a shower, or when you get dressed.

Neither are you the profile description on your social networking page, or your high school diploma, your driver’s license, or your title at work. You are not defined by your career, or the things you own, or the family…

"What Do I Say To That?" Handling the Author interview

Whether an author loves or dreads them, whether you consider them the best part of the job or the worst part, the fact of the matter is that author interviews are part of the job. And it’s important to make the most of every opportunity.

Today I was interviewed for The Examiner which boasts 20 million readers a month. Definitely an opportunity I didn’t want to blow. So what’s the most important thing to say at a moment like this? No matter how much we want to shout, "Buy my book! Buy…

Life After Death?

As my writing career has taken off, I have to give credit where credit is due. The biggest inspiration for my writing was my grandfather--someone who died before I was born. I met him in a dream. In fact, I've met more than one relative in a dream after they passed from this world, and it has given me tremendous hope for what lies beyond this life. I wrote two stories for the new Chicken Soup for the Soul book, entitled Messages From Heaven.  You can read a third story on my author…
