FEATURED BOOK: Sunshine Laughing - The Poetry of Anna-Marie Fuller

Blurb:

I met Anna-Marie in December of 1980. Our initial conversations revealed her to be a deep thinker. For her degrees in education (she graduated with two), Anna-Marie took numerous philosophy courses, at which she excelled. Her skill at poetry reflected her superior intelligence and depth of understanding of many difficult…

A VOICE FROM THE SCHWARZWALD: Satis Shroff

  1. Where, do you hail from?

I hail from a geographically landlocked Himalayan country surrounded by blue Shiwaliks and Mahabharat mountains, where the people actually live. Having grown up in the foothills of the Himalayas, I was fascinated and awed by the change in colours of the majestic massifs in the different seasons and times of the day. I’ve witnessed magnificent Himalayan sunsets of the Kanchanzonga with peaks bearing names like: Janu,, Kabru,…

From the heart #1

What is your favorite way to unwind? for me its music and just recently writing. Music has a way of taking me to a different place. I practically listen to all genres. Seems impossible however that's true for me. Music is not just in the lyrics, it is in the single most simple beat ever produced. It can be the chirping of the birds, crashing of leaves, falling of keys or even the flow of water. Music is all around.

When God created the earth, He made sure everything in it existed in…

The Black in Me

This poetic offering from Sean C. Harrison serves as an enduring chronicle of the struggles and triumphs of peoples of African origin, whether they be nestled in the jungles and settlements of Africa or live supplanted in the countries of the west. It is a uniting account of the battles of not only the black day to day and historic experience but that of the individual and collective psyche as we seek to assimilate into our indigenous realities the ways of a western world consciousness largely… Continue

Poem: Wheat and Tares

While most people are familiar with

the principle of ‘sowing and reaping’,

it can be difficult to distinguish

between Fact and Fiction; gleaning

the Truth sometimes takes time, so

that the authentic and the fake can…

be properly separated. Sad jealousies

are found when the evil works of Man

bloom against the stark contrast of

God’s reality; seeing the good and bad,

subtly reinforces our understanding of

the wheat and tares; let us be…

Poem: Eternal Dialog

The relationship between Christ

and Yahweh is an eternal dialogue;

a constant communication ensures

His intercession isn’t a backlog

of burdens, borne out of the pain

He suffered and endured at Calvary.

Having been clothed with the dust

of Humanity, He understood beauty

that’s found in our soul’s nature.

After all, we were made to worship

Him openly, freely and easily, with

an unfeigned heart of fellowship.

Made in His image, with…

Poem: Pain and Disappointment

Your pain and disappointment

should never be a hindrance

from accomplishing the plan

and purpose God has for you.

Isn’t our Life… a sacrament,

meant to be divinely poured

out, to honor our Creator?

As His children, we receive

His instruction and veracity,

as we carry our holy sword

and Hope that keeps us humble.

Discern the contrast to pain

and disappointment; find God’s

Joy, Mercy and His acceptance

without the need… to…

Poem: Poetic Elegance

When will people observe,

the inner, poetic elegance…

of Christ Jesus in my life?

Does everyday nonsense of

my human routine, disguise

Him, while promoting strife?

Striving for self-control,

under an atmosphere of peace,

my spirit is subtly stirred

to honor my Lord; woven into

my life is His fabric of Truth,

that’s sustained by The Word.

Though I’m utterly imperfect,

my brokenness allows His Spirit

to quietly glide…

Poem: Guilty and Forgiven

Are the motivations of our heart,

in sync with The Word’s principles?

Do we recognize that we’re guilty

and forgiven… by our blessed Lord?

While some forces seem irresistible,

we know that the battle is not ours

and our responsibility is in the gap;

are we truly standing united in Faith,

meeting needs and praying, employing

The Word as our spiritual bootstrap?

We push forward, not permitting pasts…

Poem: Divine Mask

The divine mask of religion is an…

ugly misnomer of hatred and abuse,

used by the religiously empowered

to take ungodly advantage of weak,

spiritually challenged people,

whose Faith can be easily bruised.

It’s meant to hide the inability

of leaderships’ failure to walk in

an atmosphere of Love, as defined

by Christ Himself; with hostility

that’s masked, grace towards sin

is lacking, when The Word is used

as a club, since they’re…

Poem: A Clearer View

Without the experienced sadness

of our soul, we would seldom

appreciate the fullness of joy;

when overcoming Life’s bedlam

and its numerous complexities,

our ability to possess vision

and real, practical solutions

come as our personal decisions

to willingly trust in The Lord,

are divinely realized. One day,

a clearer view or perspective

will be spiritually conveyed

to us, under the…
