For book/ebook authors, publishers, & self-publishers
I've been encouraging one of my brothers to write more than just his annual Christmas letter. So he signed up for an online Iowa Writers Workshop course. He finished that and found another writing course at FutureLearn which is free. It's an eight week course and take around three hours a day. I've signed up and thought I might mention the email with links here so if anyone else is interested they can go to the sight and find out more.
Hello Fay,
Thank you for joining The Open…

Another Christmas book I've written is Leona's Christmas Bucket List.
The thought for writing a bucket list into the story came from an incident at WalMart. I was in the women's bathroom, trying to use the new fangled soap dispenser after the store had remodeled. I pushed all over that dispenser, trying to get soap. A shopper walks up to the sink beside me. I…

I wrote a humorous romance story that has Christmas in it. The story is also a bit far fetched because one of the main characters is a very expensive man robot that is a house boy. He cooks and cleans which is programmed into him but he came with an attitude which makes him hard to like by his owner. The book cover is a Cinderella Coach I found at a horse and carriage sale in Kalona Iowa. I took pictures and added the bows for Elizabeth's country winter Christmas ride.…

Christmas is coming and winter is upon us soon. We will be wanting to spend more time inside, trying to find something to occupy us on a snowy day or long evenings when the days are shorter.
What better Christmas gifts to get someone you think might have everything than a book or a gift certificate for a download of an ebook of their choice. Books are great gifts for residents at nursing homes,…

November 1st. I heard it said on television that this is the eleven month of 2015. Yikes! It's time to start the National Novel Writing Month Contest better known as nanowrimo. There's no contest entry fee and no one judging which story is winner so there isn't awards.
I've entered this contest for six years. The first year I had no idea how I had to stick with…

I've always asked the people who buy my books to get back to me if they have time to let me know what they think of my books. Usually I receive a review, but this time I received a well dissected critique of my latest Nurse Hal Among The Amish book titled Amish Country Arson. I was thrilled and decided to turn the list into a comment and answer session for my blog…

I always ask readers to get back to me with a review if they have time. This is the latest review I've received about Amish Country Arson which is number 8 in my Nurse Hal Among The Amish series.
"What a terrific book with suspense, mystery, love, and an unexpected twist at the end. I couldn't put it down. And it left me wanting more. Is there another Nurse Hal book…

Fall was normally a routine season in Amish Country with harvest taking up much of the Plain farmers time. They put in long hours of hard work, shucking corn and making the last crop of hay. But one fall near Wickenburg, Iowa wasn't normal at all. When Jacob Stolfus's barn burnt down, he saw a rider on horseback…

A trip down memory lane for some, an educational tour for school children and research for me, the author of Amish books. This picture is a grandfather house - one room with kitchen in one corner, table in another and bed on the other end. If you look you can see a grandma standing toward the back of the house.
I was curious about what the inside of an Amish house…

A Coffin To Lie On started out as a short story. I entered this story in the Arkansas Writer's Conference at Little Rock, Arkansas in 2007 as a short story in the contest Westward Ho. A Coffin To Lie On was awarded second honorable mention.
In Chapters nine and ten, this part of the book was taken from a short story I entered in White County Creative…

Have a problem with your computer and find out how much you miss it when you have it in the shop getting worked on. I picked up over 600 pesky adware problems that slowed the speed down and interrupted every site I wanted to use. Finally, I said enough is enough, turned in my latest book and headed for the computer repairman. Now I’m back in business.
I’ve been turning short stories I entered in contests into novellas. Some books will be from one short stories and others will be two…

Well, I've been on a roll lately. Winter days when I'm inside more energizes me to do projects I wouldn't otherwise do. Since the first of the year I've been making baby quilts. I've got another one almost done and want to do two more at least before I stop. I hear there will be some new arrivals in our family in 2015 so I want to be prepared.
However, I am still writing a book and editing another one. It just might take me a little longer to get them on the market. One book is a…

My 40th book is a novella titled Listen To Me Honey found on Amazon and B&N in paperback and on ebooks on kindle, nook, and smashwords.

I really appreciated the chance to do an author interview on Ognaian Georgiev's Word Press Blog. This was the first time I'd been asked. I clicked all the buttons at the bottom of the interview and have received comments on Facebook and sold seven books to a local library in 24 hours after Ognaian emailed the interview was posted.
Ognaian's book sounds interesting and I'm going to read it.
The White Prisoner:Galabin Boevski's secret story by author Ognian Georgiev on…
