Left Hanging?

have my first book published by a small independent publisher. i knew what i was getting into when i signed on and really don't have any complaints. a couple of weeks ago i got a call from him asking if i was interested in becoming an independent contractor with the printer/distributor. he didn't go into it at that time and said he was call back later. i'm still waiting to hear back.

i have called and emailed him repeatedly with no response. (he is in the guard and was deployed once… Continue

Stepped Back for a Moment

I want to appologize to those people, both thru direct contact and behind the scenes who were helping me with promoting my book, THE BREKLEBY PRESS. I wasn't as prepared as I thought I was as well as having something things going on in my life which cause me to put things on hold. I am close to finishing up those things personally and hope to get going on the book again soon. I do want to thank all those who aided me and look forward working with you again. Once again I do appologize

A Beginning

A few posts back, I mentioned that I was trying to put together a virtual tour for my book, THE BREKLEBY PRESS. I just wanted to update those who have offered me words of encouragement. I have one event with another two pending a date.

It's just a little stumble.

This is turning out a little harder than I thought it would be. The virtual tour I mean.

I'm doing my reserch on finding sites to promote my book and coming up with a

few places that will either carry my book, The Brekleby Press, or place it on their page

(small feature) which is great. I'm not knocking that. Exposure is exposure.

But to have some hosts for the tour is another matter. Guess I missing the bigger

picture down the road.

Part of what I'm finding… Continue

alrighty now!

Well, just got official word that my first virtual bok tour will begin March 3rd. I'm excited and petrified. I'm stillnot to sure I have everything I need and from what one person is telling me that is assisting in the tour, you kinda can't wing it. I still have to put effort in on getting hosts, questions, excerpts together, the press release, tour schedule, tour page on my blog (not really sure what that is unless it's just a giant calendar that I fill in(?)), and something else I know I'm… Continue

the wheels are starting

I started this week working on my marketing. publicity campaign. My publisher, I love him, told me that hehad started doing a few things but I knew from all the things I.ve read on this writing businessm is that even the big boys require their authors to get involved in publizing thier books. It was just a matter of how nd where.

A friend from a former writing group I belonged to informed me that the group was thinking of doing a local radio station reading for their anthologe they… Continue

the calm before the storm

my muse has been too quiet lately. it hass barely stirred in the last two months due to other aspects of life, despite the need to work on two projects that i wanted to have at least the rough done a month ago. i guess i should be greatful cause when it does wake up, all sorts of works will be coming out of me.

there was a saying a saw a few years back and unfortunately, my retention for certain things leave a lot to desire. the long and short of it was an: having the choice of two…
