25 Ways To Market Your Book On The Internet

This is a list of things that you can do to market your book online. It will be helpful to print it out and tick off a few items each day.

1. Setup a blog
2. Write out a press-release and distribute the press-release (www.prweb.com)
3. Become active on Amazon.com (create a full profile and link to your blog-feed)
4. Create a book-extract (be generous with the number of pages you share - at least 30 pages)
5. Make a book-widget out of your book-extract and use it instead of your book cover-image (www.bookbuzzr.com)
6. Make and post a YouTube video about your book
7. Get yourself interviewed by a prominent podcaster in your field
8. Post your book-extract to your Facebook profile
9. Post your book-extract to your MySpace profile
10. Post your book-extract to your Orkut profile
11. Tell all your Yahoo email contacts about your book
12. Tell all your Hotmail email contacts about your book
13. Tell all your Gmail email contacts about your book
14. Get your book book-marked on Delicious
15. Get your book book-marked on Digg
16. Get your book book-marked on Reddit
17. Become active on Twitter
18. Create a Squidoo lens
19. Participate in social book discovery sites such as www.weread.com, www.shelfari.com, www.librarything.com
20. Tag your book on Amazon, and get others to do the same.
21. Join groups on Linked-in and share your book-extract with these groups on Linked-in
22. Do a blog tour
23. Buy an email opt-in list and run an email marketing campaign to your target market
24. Write articles on the subject of your book to create an article marketing campaign
25. Create a teleseminar series on the subject of your book

Yes. I agree, sometimes marketing feels like a grind. With daily practice though, it becomes easier ... like brushing your teeth or exercising in the mornings :)
