3 Simple Ways to Engage Readers in 2016

Getting the word out about your new book can be overwhelming. With so many options for promoting your book and countless ways to spend money, how does one chose? The most effective approach to tackling the plethora of options available to you, is to zero in a select few and doing them well.

1. Get local and dig in. It's tempting to want to be everywhere at once. Start with your back yard and hold events at the public library, local book clubs, and local book stores. Build relationships and grow your network.

2. Cast your book for film! Engage your readers in a new way by having them play with your book. A new website called The Bookcaster (www.thebookcaster.com), allows fans of books to cast their favorite characters with real Hollywood celebrities and send a message to studios that you want better adaptations.

3. Social Media - There are a ton of social media channels to use. Too many! Don't worry about be on them all. Pick a couple that work well with how you want to communicate and just do those. Post often and be yourself.
