Glastonbury wins Cover Design Award

I'm over the moon that my forthcoming novel 'Glastonbury' (Steel Waves Publishing), has won The Authors Lounge Best Cover Art Design Award http://www.talauthors.com/TAL/BestCoverArt.htm for August 2008. This is the third of my covers to have received this publicly voted accolade this year and I'm really delighted and so grateful to all of those who voted and helped the book receive this wonderful prize. Story Summary


Joe Cutler and his team of surveyors have been hired by millionaire, Malcolm Capshaw to find a legendary historical artifact in Glastonbury. Suddenly the true nature of what Capshaw is really seeking is revealed, and Joe and his team must discover it before Capshaw’s dangerous game of cat and mouse comes to a deadly end.

Brian L. Porter takes us to mysterious Glastonbury in his latest thriller. The backdrop conjures up images of gothic history, Arthurian legends and beautiful castles in ruin, a perfect setting for this riveting mystery.

As I’ve come to expect from this author, the characters are vivid. The villains Porter has created in this book are truly easy to despise and the heroes are a pleasure to root for. Joe Cutler was a strong and righteous character that was very likeable, but I think my favorite was the flamboyant Lucius Doberman who added a charming facet to the story.

The author also did a fantastic job of telling the sadly realistic sub-story of Malcolm Capshaw’s secretary, Charlotte. It was as captivating as the main plot and tied in very well as an eventual part of the whole.

Don’t take anything at face value. Glastonbury takes you on twists and turns and if you think you have it figured out, you’re probably mistaken. The surprise ending is sure to catch you off guard.
