Seriously, how many rejection letters can I expect?

I'm working on my nonfiction/memoir book manuscript.. and next comes my book proposal and query.

Seriously, about how many rejection letters can I expect?? If I send my info out to about 20-30 literary agents?? any thoughts??

Depends on how good you are and on how many queries you send out.

Expect 100. If you get a bite before, awesome! If not, keep sending them out.

It took me hundreds of queries before I got a publisher. It took me just under 100 before I got an agent. The ironic thing is I had to reject 65 of the agents because they all showed interest at the same time as the agent I signed with. :)

Remember, it's a numbers game. You have to wade through the nos before you get to the yeses. So keep at it. Persistence pays off.
