That inquiry has become more common each day. Anxiety rises, worry presses on, uncertainty hovers above us and even the rope of job security is frayed.

You and I know this doesn't catch God by surprise, nor does He leave us without answers, solutions or ways to cope and bring back reassurance and peace.

He begins with this instruction:

“Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank Him for all He has done. Then you will experience God's peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. And His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.”
(Phil 4:6-8)

Ah, it’s that coveted peace that is as elusive as rain in the desert. But that’s precisely the peace that God promises, that wonderful serene place where we can inhale His presence and exhale worry and fear.

In the desert of our times we have the same God as the Israelites had—Jehovah who kept a watchful eye, observed their discontent at times, heard their cries of frustration, and even saw their rush for idols.

He’s the same God who now watches the election saga, the stock market dip and rise, and even the foreclosure papers that slip in our hands. But with each detail, He’s still in control whispering “Don’t worry, just ask Me, trust Me, turn to Me and show Me gratitude.”

And we do have lots to be grateful for. How can we forget…He parted the red sea…and for those of us who believe, He’ll part the way for us to reach the richness of the promised land, to drink his peace and reassurance. That confidence can flicker through when the scorching sun of finances burns our sleep.

Inviting you to let Him guard your thoughts, and ponder on what He’s planned for tomorrow.

Janet, devoted to serve him…committed to inspire you.
