Introducing Kristie Leigh Maguire

Kristie Leigh Maguire is a multi-published, award-winning author. Her current titles are Affairs of the Heart: Desert Heat and Cabin Fever (Collector's Edit... and From the Far Side of the Sun: A Friendship that Spanned the Distance. Her back titles are Desert Heat, Cabin Fever, No Lady and Her Tramp, and Emails from the Edge: The Life of an Expatriate Wife.

Ms. Maguire was voted Best Up and Coming Author of the Year and her novel, Desert Heat, was voted Best Romance of the Year by the Reader/Writer Poll at the Affair De Coeur Magazine. Her novel, No Lady and Her Tramp (co-authored with Mark Haeuser), was voted at Number 9 in the Preditors & Editors Poll, and Cabin Fever was voted at Number 5 in the Preditors & Editors Poll.

Ms. Maguire began her writing career in 1997 while living in Japan. She loved to read but could not find books that were written in English so she decided to try her hand at writing her own books. She soon discovered that she had the same passion for writing as she did for reading. Since romance was her favorite reading genre, romance is what she started out writing. She tried to pattern her writing after some of her favorite romance authors but this just did not work for her. She found that she had her own voice and style of writing which was nothing like her favorite authors. Her writing takes the reader for a peek inside the bedroom without crossing the line over into pornography. As one of her fans stated, "Renamed the 'Diva of Romance' by her fans, Kristie Leigh Maguire writes with a style and flair often copied but rarely duplicated. Her ability to capture the pure animal heat in her characters takes the reader to a realm of surreal pleasure rarely found in today's writing."

Kristie Leigh Maguire grew tired of working with publishers who didn't treat her as she thought an author should be treated, or either went out of business forcing her to go with other publishing houses to keep her titles in print. She founded her own publishing house, Star Publish LLC, in March 2004. As she stated, "I wanted to spare other authors some of the trials and tribulations that I had been through. I wanted to establish a publishing hosue that would treat its authors as STARS instead of just a number." In three short years, Star Publish has released 76 titles in paperback and e-book formats. This number would have been much higher but Ms. Maguire is very selective about the manuscripts she accepts for publication with Star.

Ms. Maguire is also the owner of NUW (Not the Usual Way Authors Community) which she founded in January 2000.

She resides in Nevada and St. Croix (U.S. Virgin Islands).
