The Book Marketing Network

For book/ebook authors, publishers, & self-publishers

Okay, sorry I have been away. Don’t think I am not paying attention to this! We attended the conference I spoke of, and the networking was outstanding. We connected to organizations, individuals, and legislators on our signature Free and Fair Elections Amendment proposal, which is important to help improve our public perception (as well as to the country as a whole, in my view, but that’s a different blog; this one is on marketing). From a marketing perspective, the Free and Fair Elections Amendment proposal has a wide appeal and could trigger a vigorous and important debate, in the middle of which we will be involved.

Anyway, the book is about politics, but really about political culture and American history. One of our thrusts for this autumn will be to address the schools and academic market. We will try this in two ways: first, to try to get them to adopt the book as a school text, and second, to approach them for speaking engagements. Author comes in, gives speech or workshop (we have one already created on the Bill of Rights), and hopefully people are stimulated to buy the book. John Kremer’s book has some interesting info on marketing to this crowd, and I intend to capitalize on that advice. It features an August mailing to the professors and teachers. Our team will be doing that.

By the way, I should mention the team. We have three volunteers: Deidre Arianne Kellogg is our National Director, George Paulos is our media director, and Dawn Morningstar is our maven-coach. All are volunteers, committed to this because of what it means for America. This is one of the strengths I have: a committed group of people working on this with me. Of course, as an entrepreneur, there will be something in it for everyone if this works out well.

Selected Actual Events

  • I probably have a speech scheduled on elections for November 5th at a local university as part of a bigger program on election reform.
  • Several individuals from the League of Women Voters have expressed a lot of interest in the amendment. A few have agreed to push it to the decision makers in the LWV.
  • We scheduled a new local political picnic for having a table with books.

Enough for now.
