The Book Marketing Network

For book/ebook authors, publishers, & self-publishers

This morning I was busy posting to my website a new article I'd written and I realized I hadn't edited it completely. There was a paragraph at the bottom that didn't make as much sense as I had hoped it would. My cutsy details were missing definition and comprehension, so I took them out.

Then I considered how often I find myself editing out a 20 second slot of work on a book... It's pretty often. When the reality is that what I wrote to begin with belongs in the book. But, editing value removes the thought, and I'm left with a skimmed down version of my original work.

How often do you feel as if your work has been skimmed down to the lightest version possible without the necessary information you wanted in the book.

When Publisher N.T. Betz put together the detailed news report found in "The Fleagle Gang: Betrayed by a Fingerprint" he found editors and publishers wanted to strip it of details prior to publication. It was his baby and he wanted the content to stay in the book. He had an alternative that has worked quite well - SELF PUBLICATION.

Have you read his book? Detailed accounts of numerous FIRSTS in Criminal Case Study happened during this case. The first fingerprint used to solve a crime and the first crime where planes were used to track the criminals, along with many other FIRSTS.

Publication takes many routes - but as the WRITER you have final say of what you publish. Take that responsibility literally and decide what you want in your book.
