The Book Marketing Network

For book/ebook authors, publishers, & self-publishers

In this blog I'd like to some of my thinking behind
(a) how I got into writing fiction
(b) My experiences in writing
(c) Lessons learned in going down the self publishing route.
I am committed to this becoming (at least in the early stages) a daily exercise, so I won't lay it all out on the table just yet.
Today, I thought I would give you a little background as to what brought me to this point in my life journey.

I was born a a very young age, the child of my parents. My mother's name was Mum (I'm a proud Aussie, so either learn to accept my spelling or let it grate, your choice) My father's name was Dad Fast forward about forty five years and there I was stuck in a highly stressful job, not coping and having to take significant time out with stress related illnesses. In politically incorrect layman's terms I had two breakdowns within a period of twelve months. So much for Christian ministry!!!
It was then I got seriously involved in Personal Development. Being the type of guy I am I started researching and writing a whole lot of stuff in the area, particularly on the topic of self-esteem.
Part of my research included reading some of the classic masters from the beginning of the Twentieth Century. In particular I was quite taken with Charles Haanel's Master Key System. (I'm currently writing a 21st Century commentary on it)
One of the questions that came to me was "Why do we not have access to more of our mental capacity."
Third of January this year I got the notion to write a fictional story in an attempt to answer that question.
Three books later I am still exploring the idea. Book number four is in the early stages of production as I write. ( Well, not literally 'coz although I am a touch typist no matter how hard I try I can't use two keyboards at once)
Anyway... same time, same place tomorrow. Be here or be somewhere else. The choice is yours.
